I really struggle to believe there are more Yorubas in the USA than Igbos.

I am suspecting maybe Yorubas just teach their kids their indigenous language more than Igbos.

There are more Yorubas in the UK than Igbo. I struggle to believe that is also the case in the USA.
u think cos some Igbos are too loud online and uncouth too... Having a toxic arrogant pride on top na Dem plenty pass that's why some of Igbos ll be doing yeye bragging say na Dem develop Lagos...

Typically average Yoruba man is motivated by education and status in society. The average Ibo man is motivated by money. Respect in Yoruba society is not achieved by money but by having a Nobel profession. The average yoruba man seeks to have a Noble profession and it is usually their wives that are the hustlers…probably explaining why yoruba women are very aggressive. Most of the best yoruba brains produced between1970 and 1990 are unable to practice their highly sought professions in Nigeria so it is no surprise many yoruba professionals are abroad. Doctors, engineers etc. professionals also tend to be a quiet reserved group. So unless you take a poll you may not know how many actually exist as they are not given to noise making.

Hmmm!

Ibos are loud in everything..plus they have a habit of going to other peoples’ land and making noise bragging about their “achievements in other peoples’ land whereas Yorubas respect themselves as visitors. If you count the number of Nigerian born mayors or politicians in America I am sure there are more Yorubas but the way Ibos carry on you will think every black mayor of politician in America is an Ibo man.

That is the loud, useless chest-beating I was referring to.

Everything you have insinuated here is chest-beating, not nngbati-nngbati speaking loudly. grin

Yorubas are more corporate, hence the reason why they are more officially inclined.

But by outright population, Igbos are more in number both documented and undocumented.

It's not so implausible that there are more Yoruba speakers in the US than Igbo speakers because quite a higher percentage of Igbos in Lagos grew up being able to speak Yoruba, while there are much fewer Yoruba that can speak Igbo.

So in completing the census info, Igbos who can speak Yoruba will add to Yoruba speakers more than Yorubas will add to Igbo Speakers.

Just come to Lagos and conduct a little sample to check the veracity of my submission and you'll see that it is quite very likely true

Very true and on-point!

the topic is not about which language is more in number but the one more spoken, you and I know that Igbos don't like to speak Igbo to their brothers and even their children at home like other tribes, so more than 85% of Igbos here don't speak Igbo, Do you know that even in our Igbo meetings here we still speak English

Wow!

That shyt needs to change!

Your children being able to speak their mother tongue well and having native names is a basic, fundamental achievement to those with threshold IQ.

But most Black people have IQs of baboons and colomentality, to the point they think giving their kids foreign names and not allowing them to speak their mother tongue is an achievement and makes them look "cool" and "enlightened".

U dey mind that coward. Take Sunday igboho and Nnamdi Kanu for example. Sunday igboho was agitating for yoruba Nation in Nigeria. He led security agents to go and fight against fulani herdmen. And even when government try to catch him, he still manage to escape. But someone was hiding in the UK and shouting Biafra, Biafra, he never led or face any battle and federal government still manage to arrest him even though he dey abroad. You can see who is the real coward. I don't want to talk of Fela anikulapo own.

I wouldn't be surprised.

Germany has not been historically seen as a 'furthering your education' destination or for professional careers by Nigerians, it has mostly be seen as a place for buying cars and selling in Nigeria.

As I said earlier: https://www.nairaland.com/7934178/top-five-west-african-languages/1#127369957
German government for the past 5 years have been changing their every time to make foreigners come to Germany, on education or Skills due to shortage of professional skill.
Lang is the reason many people go UK, Canada, USA etc

True.

Yorubas definitely speak their language at home to their kids more than Igbos.

In Ireland's 2011 census: 10,093 people spoke Yoruba at home, making it the most widely spoken African language in the country, while 3,875 spoke Igbo.

In UK's 2011 census: 14,914 people spoke Yoruba as a main language, while 7,946 spoke Igbo.

Now in America: 207,052 people speak Yoruba at home, while 117,118 spoke Igbo.

With Igbos at roughly half the population of Yoruba home speakers, I refuse to believe Igbos are only half the population of Yorubas in these countries. They just probably don't pass on their language to their kids as well as Yorubas do. And we also know Igbos are more likely to have and use English names than Yorubas.

This is the benefit of Yoruba pride in their history and culture.

The I.gbos are usurpers.

They can also take up the names of the natives, not because they love the native or the tribe, but because they want to hijack those people's community and land.

Thats why you will see the first coup plotter, Nzeogu bearing Kaduna in his name: Kaduna Nzeogu.

When you see an ig.bo man bearing your native native name, please be careful.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They are dangerous!!!!!!

They know they have a very bad and unproductive land, so they go all out to hijack peoples land in subtlety....they tried that in Porthacourt (those ones know them and will not take shit from them).

They are so proud to the extent that they will NOT appreciate the host. They will rather insult and even boast and brag about it!!!!!

Such a tribe.

I have an Indian friend who surprisingly knows the I.gbo tribe for what and who they are...Fraudsters. Imagine!!!!!!!!!

The Nigerian Union in Japan is disproportionately dominated by Igbos. I want to believe China, Hong Kong, South Korea and Taiwan should not be different. That covers East Asia. South East Asia should not be different, I believe.
