Senator Gbenga Daniel, the representative for Ogun East in the National Assembly, recently engaged in a crucial meeting with the FinlandAmbassador to Nigeria, Her Excellency Leena Pylvänäinen. The primary aim of the meeting was to strengthen the existing relationship between the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Finland.

Senator Daniel, a former Governor of Ogun State, concurrently holds the position of President of the Nigerian-Finnish Association. Having been re-elected for another two-year term with overwhelming support from association members in Lagos on Monday, Daniel’s leadership continuity marks a significant mandate.

In a courtesy visit to Ambassador Pylvänäinen on Tuesday, Senator Daniel delved into discussions about areas of mutual interest and potential cooperation between Nigeria and Finland.

Given Finland’s globally renowned education system, Senator Daniel, who is a member of the Senate Committees on Basic Education and Tertiary Education, explored avenues for Nigeria to benefit from the Finnish education model.

Drawing from his role as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Navy, Senator Daniel also explored potential areas of collaboration aimed at developing Nigeria’s maritime sector and marine economy in discussion with the ambassador.

It’s noteworthy that Senator Daniel’s company, Kresta Laurel Limited, has played a significant role as a major distributor for Kone elevators from Helsinki, Finland, for the past three decades. The company’s sustained commitment has elevated the Kone brand to the pinnacle, making it the most sought-after elevator in Nigeria. Kresta Laurel Limited has consistently held the reputation of arguably being the best distributor of Kone elevators in Africa for the past five consecutive years.

This strategic meeting reflects Senator Otunba Gbenga Daniel’s multifaceted commitment to advancing diplomatic ties, educational collaboration, and economic partnerships between Nigeria and Finland.
