I never knew about the existence of crude oil in Gaza and you're simply over exaggerating its importance. If it was really huge, it would not have been a public secret.

Oil majors prefer to stay away from areas of conflict. Most of the oil majors in Nigeria for instance has sold their onshore operations and have moved offshore due to the militancy, violence, kidnapping crude oil theft and basically lawlessness in parts of the Niger Delta.
