Immediate past governor of Rivers state and now the FCT minister, Nyesom Wike has been having what seems to be an unending fight with his successor, Sim Fubara who is now the governor of the state.

This has led to the resignation of over seven commissioners who are believed to be loyalists of the Ikwerre strong politician and more are expected in the coming days

Sim Fubara is gradually showing signs of a typical Nigerian politician with his recent actions and Wike in his usual character, is likely to fight till the end.

Effort, to resolve the crisis by the president and other stakeholders have failed to yield any result

In my opinion, this is why I think Tonye Cole might end up being the biggest winner.

📌 The Supreme Judgement:

The judgement of the apex court on the governorship election in Rivers state is still expected and many observers believe, Sim Fubara would've waited to secure victory at the supreme court before starting a fight with his predecessor

Wike who has now become a staunch ally of President Tinubu, due to his role in this year’s presidential election, will want to leverage on that to influence the apex court judgement and this will likely favour Tonye Cole.

📌 2027 Governorship Election:

If there's no amicable solution to the crisis, The FCT minister will likely defect to the ruling APC, the party will be glad to have him in their fold and will become the party's leader in the state

Tonye Cole will still emerged the ruling party's candidate in the state and with Wike's formidable political structure

This will be his best chance of winning the governorship election in the oil rich state

Governor Fubara will win his case in the Supreme Court of justice. Tonye Cole case will be dismissed for lacking merit in the Supreme Court
