Strange Powers Resident In The Body of Christ by ocnovakmichael(m): 12:34pm On Dec 15, 2023
From my newest Book: The Strangest Power

There are yet strange powers in the body of Christ which the church is yet to explore. We're ignorant of how to wild and exercise our rights and privileges as contained in the mystery of our faith. We, the church, think that we have all the revelation there is in the word of God, but quite frankly, we're only walking in the little light that we've grasp.

I remember brother Kenneth Hagin speaking along this line when the Lord Jesus appeared to him while he was praying. Hagin told the Lord he had read the New Testament 250 times, but the Lord said to him, 'Son, there's so much more in my word that you don't know yet.' Friend, there is so much more in the word of God that the church do not know.
What am I getting to? You see, sometimes when we read a passage of scripture, we may peruse right through it, but at one point the Spirit will grab our attention to read in between the lines, and that passage of scripture will come alive and become a living revelation, giving us new understanding of our inheritance as sons.
So I was reading through 1 Timothy 1:20 and 1 Corinthians 5:5 and I found out that bequeathed to the body of Christ is reserved power to make or mar, to bind or to loose, to plant and to uproot to the glory of God. This reserved power is not given for wanton exercises but to bring correction to that which has gotten out of the way.

Now there are two sides to this reserved power: the legal and the experiential sides. The legal side holds that the body of Christ have this power potentially declared upon her. And the experiential side holds that the church could exercise this power by faith.
The Legal side
Matthew 18:18
18. Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Luke 10:19
19. Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Mark 11:23
23. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

The legal side shows that the body of Christ has the reservation to make or mar, to bind or to loose, to plant or uproot. But this power will remain dormant until the church exercise her divine prerogative.
The Experiential side
In the experiential side, we see the church demonstrating her divine prerogative over circumstances.
1 Timothy 1:19-20
19. Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck:
20. Of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander; whom I have delivered unto Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme.

Paul was exercising divine prerogative over those who speak lightly and slander the things of the faith. He said he had delivered them unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so to speak.
1 Corinthians 5:4-5
4. In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,
5. To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

Notice Paul said, the church has the prerogative to deliver one, who has brought contempt to the body of Christ, unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh. Put slightly differently, the church has the authority to bring sanity in a place where there is decadence.

You see, until the Church wake up and be on the offensive against every attack from the powers of darkness, we are going under. The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 10:5 "Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalt itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ."
Friend, it is high time we begin to exercise our divine prerogative as written in the word. Let's begin to act on the word of God, for in the word lies our privileges.
Consider, for illustration, in 1 John 5:16, John writing by the inspiration of the Holy Ghost, espoused: "If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it. All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death."
Notice the Spirit says, 'You shall ask, and he (God) shall give him life...' Why should you ask and not the person in need of life? Because that person, perhaps, is unable to ask or unable to help himself.
We can ask God to give life to one who is in comatose or who is unable to say the prayer of repentance and God will give eternal life to such a one. God said He would, we just got through reading that.
I remember one time I was returning from work and on the right side of the road was an insane man lying helpless and in a poor state. My heart was moved to empathize with him in such condition of health and mind. Nevertheless, when I got home and about to make dinner, right in the kitchen, the spirit of supplication came heavily upon me that I started praying for this insane man which I saw some few hours back.
I knelt down in the kitchen and I prayed for that insane man in the Holy Ghost for several somewhat minutes. And after I had prayed, I seem to get a note of victory that whatever it is in the life of that man is settled. However, some few days later as I walked down the same road, I looked at the corner where the insane man used to lay every day, behold, it was swept and clean: the man is no longer there. And I heard a voice within my spirit say, “He is dead.”
Till this day, I cannot tell the whereabouts of that man. I could only rely on what my spirit told me about his soul. Nonetheless, I know that while many other concern saints and I were praying for that insane man, heaven and hell were also fighting for his body and soul. Scripture says, “Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee” (Jude 9).

In conclusion, until we start exercising our divine prerogative according to scriptures, this power will remain as reserved power in the body of Christ.

The liberty of the youths is the first step to global revival. Why we keep trying to keep the Spirit caged and under submission, we won't experience anything tangible. I have said it since 2005, The Holy Spirit left the church in anger when men claimed ownership and pushed him out. All the whole churching majorly has been with Him outside. When He changes His mind and returns, power and revival returns

1TrippleCee.

Yes the church has been majoring on the minor for so long. However, the Holy Spirit did not leave the church in anger, as you supposed in your comment, because if He did, then Jesus lied. In the gospel of John chapter 14:16 the Lord Jesus espoused: "And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever."
Notice Jesus said the Holy Spirit will be with us forever; not get angry and leave when the church err.
You see, 1TrippleCee, I understand what you mean, but our conversation should line up with the word. Like I earlier stated, the church should act on what the word of God says and not what she think the word says.
The hand of the LORD, the Holy Spirit, was hindered to manifest in our churches, not necessarily because He was angry but because the church was acting in unbelief, tradition and doctrine of men (Colossians 2:7-9).More over, remember, when Jesus was in His home town, he could there do no mighty work because of their unbelief not necessarily because he was angry (Mark 6:5-6).

Thanks 1TrippleCee for your passion in the things of the faith. And know that the same power resident in the church, resides in you.

Use this so called power to give an amputee their limb back.

I guess you think the Lord Jesus, anointing to the brim, healed all. Yet the Bible says in his home town he could do no mighty works.
Mark 6:5
[5]And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them.

Scripture told us why Jesus couldn't
Mark 6:5-6
[5]And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them.
[6]And he marvelled because of their unbelief. And he went round about the villages, teaching.

Therefore even if the church comes to the realization of this potential power resident in her, unbelief will still deprive many from being heal.

One of my readers with the pseudonym LordReed, in a commentary, said: "Use this so called power to give an amputee their limb back."

Let me start by establishing that with God nothing is impossible. And the same power and authority resident in Christ Jesus is in the church, as the corporate anointing. The Bible teaches that, "Do you not know and understand that you [the church] are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells [permanently] in you [collectively and individually]?" (1 Corinthians 3:16)
The church has the experiential power through the manifestation of the Spirit to restore an amputees' feet. However, the amputee must meet two annex conditions. That is, first, the amputee must be willing to be healed: because God cannot do anything without your will. "If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land" (Isaiah 1:19). Also, still emphasizing on the will, the Lord Jesus asked, the man who had an infirmity for thirty-eight years, the question: "... Wilt thou be made whole?" (John 5:6). Second, the amputee must be in a place where the manifestation of the Spirit is preached: because it is in that atmosphere that God will confirm His word. "And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen" (Mark 16:20).

Jesus is Lord!

You see, in Jesus' day, when the people heard he was in a certain place, they carried the lame, the weak, the diseased to him to be healed because it is in that place that the Spirit is in manifestation. The power of God is in every church, so to speak. Yet, there're certain ministry where certain type of manifestation is prevalent. I want you to understand here that the place atmosphere, where the Spirit of God is in manifestation, is very imperative. "And it came to pass on a certain day, as he was teaching, that there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, which were come out of every town of Galilee, and Judaea, and Jerusalem: and the power of the Lord was present to heal them. And behold, men brought in a bed a man which was taken with palsy: and they sought means to bring him in, and lay him before him [Jesus]" (Luke 5:17-18).

Notice in that last text two important phrases, "The power of the Lord was present to heal them," and "Men brought in a bed a man."
The manifestation of the Spirit, the gifts of healing and working of miracles" is always present in certain place/ministry; and men have to bring in the sick into that atmosphere to be healed and/or to receive a miracle.
Jesus' question to that man, who had an infirmity thirty and eight years show that sometimes your outer condition want to be healed but your inner conviction says otherwise. In the end, one who needs healing or a miracle, my advice, should by every means, look for a living church where the manifestation of the Spirit is preached: for it is in that atmosphere that one could receive one's healing or miracle.
