5 Things You Don't Know About Imo Gas by OfficialAPCNig: 10:50am On Dec 16, 2023
Here are 5 things Nigeria mainstream media will never tell you about IMO gas.

- Imo is the second largest sub-national economy in Nigeria only behind Lagos. The completion of the $3.5 billion ANOH gas project will solidify it's position as such, making the state the fastest growing economy in Nigeria.

- Nigeria has the 9th largest gas reserve in the world with 300 trillion cubic feet of gas. Imo holds 2/3 of that reserve with 200 trillion cubic and the largest gas producer in Nigeria. Anambra would have been the largest. But it's 950+ trillion is untapped.

- A thousand cubit feet of gas costs about $15 in the United States. So, the real value of Imo gas is about $3 trillion, which is 7.5x the size of Nigeria GDP and over 21x the size of Lagos GDP as of 2023.

- Imo gas will likely feed the Nigeria - Morocco gas pipeline. So, it's likely in the coming years part of Europe will rely on Imo for their gas needs. This 5,600 KM gas pipeline project will begin in 2024.

- Imo gas powers Lagos. There is plan to pipe gas from Imo to Ogun to supply the state. So, SW depends on Igbos for their gas needs.

Most of Rivers oil wells were carved from Abia and Imo.

Abia is still in court to recover their oil wells while Imo lost at the Supreme Court.
