It was a unique rain of blessings as Traders of the Major Building Materials Market in Benin City, predominantly Igbos and Edo Indigenes, suspended business activities for about 3 hours to spend quality time in prayers with the fiery Catholic Priest, Very Rev. Fr. (Dr) Andrew Obinyan, who was invited to Cook Road market crusade by the Edo State Christian Market Fellowship of Nigeria.

Fr. Obinyan admonished the mammoth crowd to avoid the reckless mistake of declaring independence from God when in prosperity, good health, and strength. Everyone must refrain from ignorant thoughts, statements, and attitudes towards God".

"Don't forget where God brought you from. No condition is permanent; nothing is abiding under the moon, the sun, and on earth except God", he said.

Speaking with Newsmen, the Union Chairman, Chief Nonso Ibe, flanked by the executive members expressed their gratitude to God and thanked the Priest on behalf of the traders, describing Fr. Obinyan as God sent to mankind.

"You can see how the traders voluntarily locked up their shops with all the adjoining roads leading to the market to receive blessings. We are indeed proud to identify with him".

It would be recalled, that there have been reported calls and appeals from notable Edo Indigenes across the country and in the diaspora to Rev. Fr(Dr) Andrew Obinyan to join the 2024 Edo Governorship race.
