Reno Fires Back At Peter Obi Over Criticism Of Tinubu’s Transport Policy by jucatyo12(m): 12:15pm On Dec 22, 2023
In a recent development, Reno Omokri, a former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, has aimed Peter Obi, the Former Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party, following Obi’s criticism of President Tinubu’s Yuletide 50% Transportation Fare Reduction Policy. Obi asserted that an investigation he conducted revealed insufficient communication with transporters nationwide, raising questions about the policy’s fairness and efficacy.

Obi argued that for such a policy to yield positive results, it should have been implemented inclusively, with thorough consideration of the challenges faced by transport companies across the nation. This critique prompted a response from Reno Omokri, who questioned Obi’s tendency to undermine positive initiatives.

“Why can’t he, for once, be appreciative of something good?” Omokri questioned. He went on to label Obi’s characterization of President Tinubu’s efforts as a “spin to curry favour” as unjustified. Omokri expressed surprise at Obi’s reluctance to acknowledge the positive aspects of the Yuletide transportation policy, including the free railway ride for Nigerians.

Omokri further highlighted the confirmation from private sector transport operators, some operating in Anambra and known to Obi personally, who have endorsed and begun implementing the policy. This endorsement, according to Omokri, adds credibility to the effectiveness of the fare reduction measures.

The former presidential aide also raised concerns about Obi and his party’s seemingly negative disposition towards positive developments in Nigeria. Omokri questioned why they appear content only when bad things occur in the country, expressing a fear that they might resort to sponsoring activities detrimental to the nation’s economy and security to satisfy their negative narrative.

“It seems all they know how to do is raise false alarms with fake statistics and then threaten, insult, and abuse when right-thinking Nigerians refuse to buy into their delusions,” Omokri remarked.

The exchange between Omokri and Obi underscores the ongoing tension between political figures, with each side asserting its perspective on the effectiveness and fairness of government policies. As Nigeria navigates complex challenges, the public remains watchful of the discourse surrounding key initiatives and the impact they have on the nation’s well-being.

Rather than Peter Obi to call President Bola Tinubu’s free railway ride for Nigerians and 50% slash in transport costs for the Yuletide a “spin to curry favour”, why can’t he, for once, be appreciative of something good? Where is Peter Obi’s own spin to curry favour with Nigerians, other than his constant lies and fake statistics?

At least the private sector transport operators, including some who operate in Anambra and are personally known to Peter Obi, have confirmed the deal and are already implementing it.

Why are Peter Obi and his Arise Peoples Party only happy when bad things happen in Nigeria and sad when good occurs? At the rate they are going, one hopes they will not start sponsoring people to sabotage our economy and security just to have something negative to be happy about.

All he and his Arise Peoples Party, plus his Obidients, know how to do is raise false alarms with fake statistics and then threaten, insult and abuse when right-thinking Nigerians refuse to buy into their delusions.

I love Reno Omokri.

He is a man who stands for his conviction.

Despite threat to kill his daughter, he remains resolute and focused in fighting for what he believes in.

May God protect him and his daughter from the hands of devils. The devils will never be to carry out their evil plans against his daughter.

Let's appreciate good things when we see one and also, condemn evil in its entirety. The FG policy is a good one which must be appreciated. PO needs to do better.

Stop spreading lies falsehood and fake news;

Peter Obi didn't criticize President Tinubu’s Yuletide 50% Transportation Fare Reduction Policy.

He actually commend him

When it comes to criticism, Peter Obi needs to draw the line. A good deed is a good deed, irrespective of who did it. Giving Nigerians 50% discount is commedable; there's no two ways about it.

As for Reno Omokri, that one don dey mad. If Atiku Abubukar criticises the government, he keeps quiet. If Peter Obi does the same, he launches an attack on him. Despite all that, PO doesn't notice him.

Obi was right in all he said, first commending the initiative.... second, an initiative without planning or structure is just corruption..

- Do the buses penetrate the grassroot?
- What buses of the transport coys in particular?
- How do your know fake manifest won't be sent out?

It's just an expense-head to loot money.

Better alternatives would have been,
- NNPC and other renowned stations should sell fuel at N250/ltr 24hr between the period.

- Purchase bus tickets from a Givt designated website with links to the transport coy website.

- The train initiative is good because its Givt controlled.
