The Nigerian political scene is characterized by political manipulation and hypocrisy, with the opposition's outrage over Wike's alleged rigging in Rivers favouring Fubara. The opposition abandoned their lawsuit against Fubara, highlighting the importance of legality for political gain. President Tinubu intervened to mediate a truce between Wike and Fubara, raising questions about the legitimacy of Fubara's activities. This complex political landscape encourages citizens to distrust leaders' genuine objectives, hindering the quest for justice.

In the complicated web of Nigerian politics, the recent events involving Fubara, Wike, and the opposition present a picture of political manipulation and obvious hypocrisy.

The opposition's outrage at Wike's alleged rigging in Rivers in favour of Fubara sets the scene for a drama in which principles seem to move like the tides. The ensuing court struggle, presumably for justice, took an unexpected turn when the opposition abandoned their lawsuit against Fubara, their former adversary.

The opposition applauded Fubara's controversial acts, which included the demolition of the House of Assembly structure and the unconventional presentation and rapid adoption of the budget. Does it beg the question: is legality merely an afterthought in the pursuit of political gain?

The unexpected twist came when President Tinubu intervened to mediate a truce between Wike and Fubara, triggering arguments over the propriety of such interventions. However, a more serious question arises: were any of Fubara's activities legitimate from the start, or was political expediency the underlying compass driving the opposition's support?

In a society striving for fairness, perceived conflicts in political allegiances and the selective application of constitutional concerns encourage citizens to distrust their leaders' genuine objectives. In Nigerian politics, the dance of hypocrisy continues, and the quest for justice looks to be a casualty of this complex political terrain.
