“Some men are threatened by women’s strength. Because we can come off as if we are doing too much. First of all, you’re a woman, you’re beautiful, you’re here and there…

“Naturally, men want to see you [women] not so overly successful just so that they can pull you around, you can be the woman, cook and clean and do all the basic things that they’ve grown up to know is expected of women.

“So when you get too strong, it’s almost like you’re competing with their ego. But the truth is, like I always say, I like to be the queen. I’m not a woman who is looking to subdue any man or ride over any man.

“No matter how successful I get, I don’t think I would like to have a man that I am lording over. Then what is the beauty of it? I mean, the beauty of it is me walking beside my man and he giving me instructions and protecting me.”

She added that it is hard to find men who understand that successful women aren’t threats to their position as the head of the home.

Majority of men will forever be threatened by women being successful, but that's their problem. No one is stopping a woman from being successful. Oh except, "what is my man gonna say if am richer than him", "will he see me as an arrogant woman", "what is he gonna think of me"? and blah blah blah.

I just don't get how some women be thinking about what men is gonna say about them being successful! If he is gonna die, then he better die now cuz no amount of manipulation is gonna stop you, from being who you wish too be.

I think some women use the word "threaten" "intimidate" to shame men that are not into them but they don't have to. I'm a lady and I know very well that men are not threatened or intimidated by overtly successful women, they are just not that attracted to them. It's a positive trait but men don't fancy it much in women.

We shouldn't shame anyone for their preference. They can't help themselves.

When a man works or acquires wealth, it is to provide for his family, it is his duty, role and responsibility to ensure his family is adequately taken care of, and he gets motivated to work more. Women are susceptible to a change in character when they start to earn a lot, and oftentimes they are oblivious to their subtle and sometimes overtly condescending and disrespectful words and actions when they relate with men, easier for most women to use the excuse of being successful on why men don't want to deal anymore than actually taking accountability.

If any young woman wants a successful marriage, perhaps you should learn from highly successful women like Ibukun Awosika, Folorunsho Alakija, Ngozi Okonjo Iweala etc.

Being broke does not make a woman humble. Some broke women might just decide to conceal their pride but true humility has nothing to do with one's financial status.

Everybody is threatened by some thing. If overly successful women treathen you look for successful ones and leave the "overly" ones. Me i can only be treathened by a very fat women on bed. I no dey know how or where to begin with them.

An "overly successful" woman is one who is dedicated and committed to her career.
No matter how much you try as a woman, you can never balance with domestic duties.
It is not the success that drives men away, it is inverted duties the woman have to do

Successful women always justify their inability to make a relationship work with their success. There are some behaviours that won’t sit well with any man whether you are successful or not.

It’s also not like your success is beneficial to him. It’s common knowledge that a woman can have sufficient to feed a community but have problems with providing for her household because it’s not her ‘role’.

If the things you do to attain the success or what the success has turned you into is inconveniencing to the man and there’s no benefit derived from the success, that’s a lose-lose situation, why should he put up with you?
