Recently, i saw this article and I decided to share here.

Ah, the wedding bells have rung, the aso ebi has been danced, and you’re finally embarking on the beautiful journey of married life in Nigeria. But amidst the honeymoon glow and endleHere are some tips on how to save money in 2024.
1. Ditch the “His Money, Her Money” Drama:

Gone are the days of siloed finances. In a modern Nigerian marriage, transparency and joint decision-making are key. Ditch the outdated “his money, her money” mentality and embrace a “we” approach. Let’s be real, hiding your bank statements is like hiding your second plate of amala – it’s gonna come out eventually. Talk openly and honestly about your income, debts, and financial goals. Be open to each other’s perspectives and avoid finger-pointing. Remember, communication is the cornerstone of any successful relationship, and finances are no exception.

2. Budget Like a Boss, Not a Stressed-Out Chef:
Forget about boring spreadsheets and restrictive rules. Budgeting should be a fun adventure, like finding the best pepper sauce at the market!Forget about strict, joyless restrictions. A budget should be a roadmap, not a cage. Work together to identify needs, wants, and savings goals. Remember, “pepper money” for enjoyment is just as important as saving for a bigger future. ss plates of jollof, there’s one crucial topic that needs your attention: managing money as a newly married couple.

3. Debt? Tackle It Together:
Debt can feel like a stubborn yam that won’t leave your pot. But fear not, couples! Face it head-on as a team. Create a debt repayment plan that works for both of you, celebrate milestones, and don’t be afraid to seek professional help if needed. Remember, you’re in this together, and sharing the burden makes it lighter.
