My visitor visa is only 3 months long and in this time we need to get married and get my residency permit so I can live there with him. We have been in a relationship for about two years now and I have made the choice after multiple trips to Nigeria, that it's somewhere id love to live and raise a family in Lagos.

But i read somewhere online that I need to be living with my spouse for 6 months minimum before I can be granted my residency permit. And visitor visas are only 3 months at a time, so we haven't lived together for 6 months straight. So I'm just just wondering if this rule 6 months rule applys?

My fiance (who we have a habit of calling eachother husband and wife) will be hiring a lawyer to process everything for us and it will be all done very quickly he told me. And to not read to much into what's online. But I still worry ah 😓

You can get your PR right from nigeria. If he files for you. You will travel as permanent resident, then if you live together for 3 years you would get citizenship
