Please rational response guys.

Most of our Top fathers in the Christian faith have different beliefs in the faith... As regarding "Christmas celebration" I recently watched an old video of kumuyi (deeper life) strongly expressing his disbelief to Christmas celebration as he said it wasn't biblical while another top father in the faith Adeboye (Rccg) believes well in Christmas celebration.... I believe both men of God serve and always hear from the same God but why the different beliefs ?

I believe as Christians, we need to be guided by the words in the Bible. Christmas has no single biblical proof so Pastor Kumuyi is very right to have his own belief. Most of the things we do on earth nowadays were formed recently.

The exact date of Jesus Christ's birth is not specified in the Bible, and historical records from that time are limited. December 25th was chosen by early Christians to coincide with existing pagan festivals celebrating the winter solstice. Over time, it became the widely accepted date for celebrating Christ's birth, although some scholars believe the actual birth may have occurred at a different time of the year. The choice of December 25th was more about providing a Christian alternative to existing festivities rather than pinpointing the accurate historical date of Jesus' birth.

As long as it's a belief, it's meant to be different.
There must be differences in every belief.

The highlighted has answered your question.
Both Men aren't hearing from the same God.
According to Jesus of Nazareth who is called "Christ" his followers will be sanctified or unified by the truth as found in God's word: Bible! John 17:17
That is the only way they can have the same line of thought with Jesus and Jesus' father. John 17:22 compared to 1Corinthians 1:10 and Ephesians 4:3
So between the two men any interested individual should ask "who is on the same page with God's word on the issue?"
Whoever is not speaking in harmony with the scriptures is FAKE! Matthew 15:7-8

God bless you and may you have peace!

I believe in Christmas. It is reasonable to me. Cancer has a day, tuberculosis diabetes, fathers, mother's, even pi(π) have days!

In most yoruba towns and villages today, popular fetish yearly celebrations are now being charged to x - day, y- day.

So?

If the world has not given a day to Jesus, I would have done it myself in my own house!

"You hypocrites, Isaiah aptly prophesied about you when he said: ‘This people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far removed from me. It is in vain that they keep worshipping me, for they teach commands of men as doctrines.’” Matthew 15:7-9

If you are following the world and it's trend you have chosen your preferred destination {Matthew 7:13-14} so continue in the things that's of utmost importance to you.

And as for the beard story God's organization must progress in the disciple making work Christ assigned to us and countries where the beard is their custom should not be left out {1Corinthians 9:19-21} God's word never mandated that we must not wear beards we only want to present ourselves as ministers of the gospel and as such our appearance matters a lot.

Have you ever wondered why all your preferred pastors like Kumuyi, Adeboye, Oyedepo, Olukoya, Oyakilome, Lazarus Mouka and many others don't wear beards?
Well it's simply because they're following what the Watchtower taught under-G while they pretend to be against God's organization.
Now they've all been disappointed as God's organization suddenly announced that we must consider our brothers in Islamic nations! undecided

See it from this point of view. Peak yogurt, hollandia yogurt, Freshyo yogurt, Ojoma yogurt, Star Malik yogurt e.t.c

Peak yogurt is very thick while hollandia yogurt is really tasty, but at the end of the day. They all be yogurt.

That's called branding and packaging. In business, 100% honesty leads to loss.
Christianity is basically business and a lie.

Only a lie has several variations

For winners it may be the year of exceeding grace while it may be the year of recovery for Redeem whilst it may be the year of growth for Chosen and a year of deliverance for MFM.

Hahahaha.
You assume RCCG, Winners, DCLM don't have missionaries in those places where they wear beards for identification.
Who is copying who?

Dey play
I attended Deeper Life in the north during my NYSC year early 90s. The then State pastor was a retired Colonel. I followed the team anywhere for December retreat as just an zealous corper serving my Lord. I understand identification. Even Pastor Kumuyi in his modesty, in his magazine, Gaskiya, he had to wear baba riga in the cover picture to get accepted by northerners.

Your own is a 'New Light' after a hundred years of existence and no record for field work again.

JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES are the only group that speaks distinctively for all to know our stand as for your pastors they will act on what we say but won't say anything.
So i ask you again:
Why have they been shaving their beards if truly they aren't following what we teach? smiley

Everyone are entitled to their own opinion when it comes to secondary doctrines like Christmas, tithe, holy water, baptism, dancing in church, dressing code, etc.
But when it comes to primary or basic doctrines like believing in Christ, eternal life, Faith, resurrection. We all have one opinion

Our GB won't slap anyone
They won't lie against Jehovah and Job to make people pay tithe... There was nothing like Tithe in Job day
They won't say anything to incite religious or political conflict
They won't say that people who don't pay tithe won't go to heaven

You defend them cos they tell you what you want to hear to make you feel good
I was a Pentecostal and i know it all
They made us feel so goo that we start screaming and dip hands into the pocket and give to papa God

Re: Why Are There Different Beliefs In Churches Today by Minsk24: 9:43am On Dec 28, 2023
The reason is complex
Firstly, the evolution of the bible plays a role, a book that has gone tru multiple editing, thereby leading to inconsistencies in interpretation...
Secondly, the most important factor is that there are multiple entities interacting with human beings, each with different agenda and understanding...that is why the same holy Spirit that inspires a Catholic to venerate Mary, is the same spirit that tells a seventh day adventist to keep the sabbath...this tells u that there is no unified entity (holy spirit, God , e.t.c) that interacts with humans....there a multiple entities interacting with humans, thus leading to various interpretation......
Thirdly
The separation of church from state... christainity has undergone a revolution, from the days of the religion been the source of power and legitimacy , with this separation, the church can no longer forcefully have a unified interpretation...because people will read, understand and interprete differently

I beg to disagree Sir... Men of God under a particular religion (not different religions) that hears from one God shouldn't have diverse beliefs to Scriptures and spiritual matters... Our God is not an author of confusion... Most of our pastors just have theology degrees, most are only good in using English words but no spiritual calling...

Faith in itself is not a possession of all people! 2Thessalonians 3:2

So it's only faithful people that are interested in the truth as found in the scriptures.
Re: Why Are There Different Beliefs In Churches Today by Lucifyre: 9:11pm On Dec 29, 2023
Simply because the bible is a collection of subjective apocryphal texts of the culture and understanding of the divine with respect to the Jewish people. These subjective apocryphal texts are then passed on as objective facts even though they fall like a pack of cards under tiny scutiny. It contradicts itself so much leading to different interpretations of however you want to twist it ergo christianity has over 10000 denominations.

Even people from the same denominations have differing interpretations of the same source and sometimes don't see eye to eye. Heck the origin of Christianity which is Judaism doesn't even believe in christianity and Jesus. The intention of 1 Cor 1:10 paints a different picture from what's existing today, and as usual the devil would be blamed while they forget factions had already formed even in the early church. Even the total number of books in the bible is subjective depending on ur denomination. So...

Eye witness testimony is one of the most flawed ways to verify evidence hence its even no longer foolproof in court. Human perception of the same event can vary wildly. 10 people witness an event, ask them to chronological detail the events a few mins after it occured and you get a convoluted mess 10 different ways. Now what happens when you decide to document an event some 50-400 yrs after it occured?! Well...

Add to that the context of the culture and understanding of the world (quite limited world view) at the time, the context of the language, of which some are obsolete leading to not perfectly understood subjective translations and u get different interpretation s. But in all these, if they are divinely inspired according to the verse quoted above and the claims of Christians, shouldn't at least 2 denominations have the same exact doctrines.... But it isn't so, making 1 Cor 1:10 futile and the whole thing doubtful.

Makes me appreciate the statement, "Religion is simply a precursor to science" nothing more.
