With the recent Vatican document released on18th December 2023, that permits a roman catholic priest to administer blessing to a same sex couple, the church was ushered into a new era.

in opposition to the church earlier stand concerning same sex marriage, the pope issued a document that opens up a window through which same sex couple can receive God's blessings. The Vatican further explain that the blessing of same sex couple will not be done in a liturgical ceremony nor will the normal blessing words used during a regular marriage rite be used. "An informal pastoral, non-liturgical blessing they call it".
