Reno Omokri, the Special Assistant to the Nigerian President on New Media may not be what he claims to be after all.

Latest finding has revealed that as at today 2nd November 2011, there is no such position as the Special Assistant to Mr. President on New Media in the Presidency. In fact it never did exist.

What is in existence is the position of Special Assistant to the Special Adviser (on new media)!

To say that Reno courts controversy at any given opportunity will be stating the obvious. Reno is alleged to be the same person with username Beaf on Nairaland, the Nigerian forum, where he uses every opportunity to defend anything Goodluck Jonathan even if it is obvious he is in the minority.

He played a major role during the campaign activities of Mr. President, especially on Nairaland so much so that some Nairalanders are of the opinion that he was strategically stationed on the forum to do the “hatchet” job.

Not many are therefore surprised when he announced on Twitter that he had been made the Special Assistant to Mr. President on New Media. Of course, he was being compensated for a job well done, they opined.

Just a couple of weeks ago, Reno incurred the wrath of Nigerian community on Twitter when he was alleged to have described the Northerners as parasites.

On October 21st, 2011 using his twitter handle, @renoomokri, Reno was alleged to have stated thus “if they need emergency action then let them produce wealth. The North particularly the core north are parasites”.
