The truth is that a lot of women out there (married or dating) just want to have their men all to themselves in peace. However, the problem is that things do not go according to plan. All over the world, marriages are crashing and beautiful relationships are parking up. What could be the cause of these failures?

As a married woman, I decided in the early years of my marriage (2010) to see through the storm (most especially) if there would be no physical assault on me as a woman. Our problems started with finances; in those early days we rarely spoke about our financial situations- as I believed that finances were the man’s problems, and the lack of communication in this regard nearly tore my home apart.

My husband and I could comfortably go 5 days without saying a word to each other, as a matter of fact, within 6 months of marriage we became roommates instead of the couple we were meant to be, and by then I hadn’t gotten pregnant (will speak on this later). The love we had for each other vanished in just months of being married. Though, when this brouhaha started I enjoyed it- even while dating, we did not have a disagreement we never settled immediately. This time, a lot of things have changed.

In our early days of marriage, I was a housewife, while my lovely husband was a taxi driver with not so good vehicle. While waiting to get pregnant, I initiated the peace moves, we sat down and discussed our frequent misunderstandings; I used that opportunity to inform him that I wanted to learn how to sew clothes. Call me selfish, but I am a woman, and women are very strategic in the affairs of marriage.

That peace move made me understand something that was beginning to give me sleepless nights. In 6 months of marriage I wasn’t pregnant (I married as a virgin) I then came to understand that your state of mind could prevent you from getting pregnant. Rightly or wrong, that was my experience.

My message in this thread is this; couples should learn new ways to solve marital problems (most especially) if there is no threat to life.

I will write more threads on how I made sure my husband was mine and mine alone.
