More Transformational Strides Underway in 2024, Ekiti Commissioner Reassures Youth

The Ekiti State Commissioner for Youth Development, Mr. Adesola Gold Adedayo, has assured the youth that the government of Governor Biodun Oyebanji has put machinery on full throttle to deliver more democracy dividends to them in the New Year.

Adedayo said more transformational programmmes are underway to be unveiled in the coming fiscal year that would disentangle the youth population from the shackles of joblessness, restiveness , neglect and poverty.

In his new year's message released in Ado Ekiti, on Sunday, the Commissioner saluted the youth for making themselves available as pillar of support for the current administration.

Adedayo commended the youth for refraining from vices that could trigger restiveness and social unrest capable of distracting and derailing governance in Ekiti, in spite of the multifarious social, political and economic challenges ravaging the nation.

Going by the foregoing, the commissioner assured that Governor Oyebanji is incurably resolute to reciprocate the gesture by rolling out more empowerment and wealth-induced programmes that would bring more transformation to the youth.

Having a retrospect of the 2023 vis-a-viz governance under Governor Oyebanji , Adedayo said the present administration had demonstrated enough commitment that signposted how youth-friendly the government was and its desire to put their issues at the front burner.

Adedayo advised the youth and Ekiti in general to continually support the government and key into all the programmes being initiated to change the economic and infrastructural facets of the state.

The Commissioner said: "Let me congratulate the intellectually sophistically and morally upright youth population of Ekiti for their unmatchable support for the government of Governor Biodun Oyebanji in 2023. This had helped in lubricating rough edges for good governance in our dear state.

"You could all attest to the fact that Governor Oyebanji had demonstrated zeal and commitment to make the youth more relevant in the state. This began with the making of Youth Empowerment and Job Creation a distinct Pillar in his policy-thrust.

"The Governor wasn't just demonstrating his youth-friendly posture and spirit on paper, he had started walking the talk with his cabinet replete with youth of Ekiti origin headhunted from within and outside the country to change the economic fortunes of our dear state for better.

"Let me bring the assurances of Mr Governor that more landmark policies will be implemented to create relevance, wealth, inclusion, empowerment for our youth in the new year.

"However, for these to be realizable, the youth must exhibit demonstrable posture and mien that suggest their readiness to serve as partners in progress to the government by shunning gangsterism, drug abuse, kidnapping, killings, cultism, drug peddling and other nefarious acts that can jeopardise their future.

"On behalf of Governor Biodun Oyebanji, I congratulate all the youth for witnessing another new year and I reassure them that the government won't dash their hope or renege on the promises made to make their lives better and more transformed".

Happy New Year
