Jackson Ude Accuses DSS Of Trying To Hack Into His Phone by Itopalucky(m): 6:53pm On Jan 02
In a post on X on Tuesday, January 2, 2024; titled "DSS, HER FAILED ATTEMPTS TO HACK INTO MY PHONE AND THE ILLEGAL PROMOTION AND STAGNATION CAUSING ANGER IN THE AGENCY" Jackson Ude has accused the DSS of trying to hack into his phone.

"I have received notifications and have observed several attempts by the rogue Department of State Security, DSS, to break into my phone and steal information which they hope will lead them to ascertain how I get my information on happenings in the agency and Nigeria.

"Bassey Etteng, a former Director of Operations who retired from the DSS few years ago and joined the All Progressive Congress, APC, where he served as a member of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, is leading the team of rogue hackers to hack my phone and trace my sources. In 2020, Etteng. Peter Afunaya and I had it rough over the phone over my continuous expose of corruption in Nigeria.

"While they have and would continue to fail in that attempt, let me state that the DSS efforts is illegal, criminal and a violation. Under the Section 702 of the U.S Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, an American citizen cannot be a target of surveillance by a foreign agency. An American phone number or line cannot be a subject of surveillance. Not even the FBI or CIA or any U.S government agency has the powers to subject my phone line under surveillance. I have not committed any crime other than being an investigative Journalist!

"Now, what is my issue with the DSS? The agency has become a political tool in the hands of the Government in power. It is now a Department under the All Progressive Congress, APC, used to haunt opposition politicians or Journalists," Jackson Ude said.

"While the Director General of the DSS and his family members continue to abuse the agency, there is anger amongst the rank and file over illegal promotions and stagnations.

"From a DSS signal in my possession, Bola Tinubu’s Chief Security officer, CSO, Adegboyega Fasasi, was recently promoted to DIS. This means that under one year, he has moved from Assistant Internal Security (ADIS) to DDIS (Deputy Director Internal Security) now to DIS (Director Internal Security), moving ahead of his peers and his superiors. This, has further dampened the morale of men and women in the agency. They said the agency has never had it this bad in its history.

"Fasasi was in June 2023 June promoted from ADIS to DDIS now to DIS. He has now been promoted ahead of his mates as Director Internal Security, DIS. DSS sources say the DG is position Fasasi as his replacement to cover all his illegalities.

"This has dampen the morale of very senior officers on that rank as Directors and Deputy's as their junior has now risen to become their senior.

"Insiders confided that Bichi’s plan is to have Fasasi promoted again next year to Assist Director General (ADG) in 2014 to become senior to all the seniors in the agency. Fasasi is pushing for Bola Tinubu to keep Bichi for another year so by then he would have attained the rank of ADG to take over as DG.

"Aside the illegal promotions going on in DSS, Bichi has continued to retain retired officers in different positions, making it impossible for serving officer to rise in ranks.

"Out of the 36 states commands, not less than eight Directors are retired.including the current Director of Operations. In the case of the Director of Operations, personnel no longer want to take instructions from him because if anything goes wrong, he can deny because he retired more than a year ago.

"The existence of Retired Directors in the agency has continued to cause decrease in posting of Directors as the retired are the ones occupying various positions, leaving less space for those still in active service.

"The DG’s Chief Security Officer, CSO, retired 2 years ago but on nominal roll of DSS as serving member. He is the one who does the supply substandard arms from Pakistan for the agency including the Drones and Arms the DG claimed were being produced at the Institute of Security Services, ISS, Bwari," Jackson Ude further said.
