Governor Sim Fubara of Rivers State has explained why Edison Ehie resigned as Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly.

Fubara explained that Ehie’s resignation was aimed at paving the way for peace in the state.

He disclosed this while addressing dignitaries, including the former governor of the state, Peter Odili, and his wife, Mary, in Port Harcourt.

According to Fubara: “Therefore, whatever it will take, as seen in our decisions yesterday, most of you were worried why the speaker would resign. It is to tell you what we can do for peace.

“It is not about what we want to gain. It is not about the power we want to exercise. But at the end of the day, ask what we are leaving for our people.”

Ehie, who is loyal to Fubara, resigned as lawmaker and Speaker of the state’s assembly amid the crisis between the governor and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike.

Ehie’s resignation letter was dated December 29, 2023, and addressed to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

The enemies of Rivers lost yet again, they shouted, screamed and called for chaos but in the end, Fubara chose the path of common sense.

How IPOB sympathizers will take this news is my major concern. They hate Wike because he knew their candidate had no thruster for forward propulsion and he decided to jump on the moving train. They transferred the hatred to Fubara. And because Fubara fell out with Wike suddenly Fubara has become their ally.
As Fubara is doing everything to pacify Wike despite the support of the Obi-densed as in densed head I don't know how they are feeling now.

This is the only governor who does not know the power inherent in the "Red biro" he used.
