If your parent owns a bare land, the fact that you have money to build on it does not automatically transfer the property to you. Get your own land, have your building approval done, build and perfect your title with the government. Have seen lot of people make mistakes.
Also if you are buying property with existing title dont rely only on genuity of such document. Make a search and enquire more if the vendor has taken a loan with the c of o as collateral or not. This has put lot of people in mess. There is also an issue brought to me recently whereby the wife sold property that belongs to she and her husband without seeking husbands consent. What amuse me is the buyer that purchased such property without making due diligence.
