Pope Benedict XVI (C), Wande Abimbola (R) of Nigeria, Rabbi David Rosen (2nd R), Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams (L) and Ecumenical Patriarch of Orthodox Church Bartolomeo I attend the "Prayer for Peace," a inter-religious meeting in the Italian pilgrimage town of Assisi October 27,

looks like leaders of the false pagan religions of the world, or some of them, trying to reach a dialogue for a new one world religion.

God forbid we should be part of this madness.

Jesus is the way , the truth and the life.

I cannot but wonder how Wande Abimbola the Awise Awo Agbaye (spokesman of the global Awo cult) joined in the prayers.

Like frosbel said they might all be pagans afterall. Like pharisees of Jesus's time many of these religious leaders are white graves.

This gathering is NOT enough, eventhough it was about the overdue acknowledment of the draconian role christianity has played in the desecration of world heritage, what i would personally like to see is for each of these individuals (Pope Benedict XVI  the head of the global Catholic cult; Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams the head of the global protestant cult; Rabbi David Rosen Director of the Jewish cult and Ecumenical Patriarch of Orthodox chritian cult) go on their respective state television and profess this clearly for the whole world to bear witness; or maybe CNN might be a good choice.

Going to an isolated town in Italy where frankly not many people have heard of is just NOT enough. We want to see people taking responsibility for their evil actions and it doesnt stop there; we want these evil action to cease to exist forever more.

Publicity stunts is NOT what the world needs, imagine someone living in some rural area of Califonia that doesnt neccesary have access to the internet, such message cannot reach their likes.

Pope Benedict expresses shame for Christian violence in history. . .
Re: What Can You Make Of These Pictures by Nobody: 1:35pm On Nov 04, 2011
@Amujale,

Are you sure they spread Christianity by violence of they spread Roman Catholicism? If you read history books you would understand that Christians were not spared of the crusades. Waldenses and Albigenses were major casualties in Europe. Ana-baptists were not equally spared.

While it's unfortunate that the Roman catholic church was involved in such violence you need to understand that at the time of the crusade the Roman catholic church was carrying out both political and religious duties. They actually fought the invading Ottoman empire in the name of religion i.e the Roman church is as responsible in the violence as the state.

The Islamic Ottoman empire had captured Constantinople (present day Turkey) and Spain and advancing towards the rest of Western Europe so Rome responded with a fight. Although Rome was claiming to be a religious state it responded with her own military strength that went out in the name of her religion with promise of heaven for the martyrs. Once Rome recovered her lost territory it imposes her religion on the people just has any country would place her flag and rules upon her captives.

Well it takes an understanding of history to correctly judge the nature of the crusade. The Ottoman empire is as guilty of violence as the Roman empire and hence the Roman catholic church.

The Moors colonized Spain, Italy, Portugal, and souther france for 780 years. It wasn't for destroying their nation, it was to uplift them. Watch this series:

Watch all those videos to understand more about religion. We Africans helped this world so much. Those same Christians were DESTROYING other religions around the world. And forcing people into Christianity.

Isn't ironic how the Europeans brought god to Africa while bringing hell? Said thou shall not steal stealing our resources. Thou shall not kill and killing our people. Lol taking the religion of your invaders. Same people who enslaved your people by force.

These videos disprove Christianity and EXPOSE the lies.

@igbo2011

Anybody can make a video about the history of religion but you need to read books to understand history not watch somebody's video. The video can only butress the point. Again I notice that your understanding of history is weak. Many Europeans are not currently christians and they all had their god's before Rome adopted christianity in the days of Emperor Constatine the great. have you red about the Greek gods, roman gods etc. Even the anglosaxons were pagans before their King adopted christianity. I think you would do well to pick up books and read. Christianity is not a "religion" and did not originate from Europe. You can either believe it or not. You cannot be forced to become a christian if you understand what christianity is all about. You may however be religious cos somebody forced you.

@ One9jeria

Always understand a thing before you make comments. They were not on a pilgrimage as you alleged they were there to pray for world peace. When Pope John Paul II started this thing in 1986 he was trying to bring all the world religion together and that's what is being continued by Pope Benedict. These pictures can only give you concern if you are a christian otherwise you will never see anything wrong with it.

@bela
Just look at the bible. It is a mix of past "pagan" religions. Horus and Isis represent Jesus and Mary. They have major similarities just like other past gods. Is this just a coincidence? Ask yourself, why are there 24 historians who were around the Mediterrean sea when Jesus was "supposedly" around. Why didn't any of them talk about him? A GOD IS IN PRESENCE!! And those historians didn't talk about him. Joesephus forged the bible man. Archaeology can debunk Christianity.
