Renowned news proprietor and philanthropist, Ayo Sogbuyi, has made a significant contribution to the newly commissioned Igbogbo Passport Front Office in the Igbogbo-Baiyeku Local Council Development Area of Ikorodu, Lagos State. The administrative block donated by Sogbuyi serves as a testament to his commitment to community development and streamlined administrative processes.

Commissioned on December 1, 2023, the Igbogbo Passport Front Office was established to facilitate passport processing for applicants in the Lagos East Senatorial District. This strategic move aims to decongest the Ikoyi Passport Office, ultimately reducing processing times and waiting periods for passport applications.

As a native of Ikorodu, Ayo Sogbuyi expressed his fascination with the innovative development initiated by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo. Sogbuyi remains optimistic that the new Passport Front Office not only addresses administrative challenges but also brings the government closer to the people, enhancing accessibility to essential services.

The Passport Comptroller Officer (PCO), Deputy Comptroller Muyiwa Odunubi, extended appreciation for Sogbuyi’s generous initiative, emphasizing its positive impact on the community. Odunubi assured that the newly established Passport Front Office, though just a month old, is poised to live up to its billing and will optimally serve the needs of Nigerians.

Recently, Ayo Sogbuyi was honored with the Apples Bite Lifetime Achievement Award for his significant contributions to the growth of soft-sell magazines and news media in Nigeria. This prestigious accolade further underscores his dedication to advancing journalism and community development. Currently equipped to accommodate at least 200 applicants, the Igbogbo Passport Front Office demonstrates a scalable capacity for increased production once fully operational. Ayo Sogbuyi’s benevolent gesture, coupled with his recent recognition, highlights the importance of public-private collaboration in advancing crucial infrastructure and services for the benefit of the community at large.

They are donating to government infrastructures in the West, they are burning down government infrastructures in the East.
