Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has denied claims that his administration has slashed traditional rulers’ statutory monthly allocation by 2.5 per cent, saying: “I risked my life to Abuja for Osun State’s sake and I don’t need government money but will rather add to it.”

Adeleke, responding to agitations by traditional rulers, who claimed that the current administration had slashed their statutory during their monthly meeting held at the Finance Building, Abere yesterday, explained that monthly allocation varied, hence it was affecting the five per cent deduction for traditional rulers.

The Nation learnt that traditional rulers during a closed door meeting with Governor Adeleke ahead of the open meeting lamented that the state government was taking from the five per cent meant for the traditional rulers monthly, leaving only 2.5 per cent for the kings.

He obviously sees the traditional rulers as leches so why pay them much.

People that aren't even creative to try to add value to the environment. People whose stool has no significance because it was just created maybe about 50 years ago

What is the economic value of those traditional rulers? Why does the government have to pay them?

Please don't just slash...stop paying them! Bunch of economic parasites.

Adeleke is doing well. Those traditional leaders especially Atooja of Osogbo must teach bitter lessons of their life.

These criminals act as though they're doing the masses a favour by being governor or that they were begged to become governor.

Ediot, resign if you don't know your duty as a governor.

Sadly they'll rather die in power like the late Aketi. Indeed Africa is curse!

There was a country

Aregbesola did a huge financial mess in Osun... instead of allowing Oyetola with financial knowledge to bail them out, they voted Adeleke
