Why Are There So Many False Pastors/prophet In Christianity? by SenaiNkop: 12:16am On Jan 08
Have you ever wondered why Christianity is rife with so many false leaders? The internet is full of people saying; "religion is a scam", "there is no real church," etc.

Think of it like this;

God allows false leaders to test us
— Paul

My sheep know my voice; those of a stranger, they do not follow
— The Shepherd

Before delving into the "why," know this: the punishment for false leaders who speak lies is the same as that of the people who believe those lies. God doesn't attribute blame to only one side; He doesn't say;

"Because of the lies that these false leaders have spoken, they have caused my people to believe in it and therefore transgress my commandments. So I will punish only these false leaders."

No, instead, God shares the blame between the two. He turns to the false leaders and say:

"You have made these people believe in a lie because of your false prophesy/teachings."

Then He turns to the people and says:

"You have listen to false prophecy/teachings because you love lies."

Then God talks to both of them at the same time and says:

"Because you have made this people who love to listens to lies disobey me by believing in your false prophecy, the punishment for both of you is the same (Ezekiel 14: 6- 11)"

God gives them the same punishment because they are both responsible for lying and believing in the lie. The fault doesn't lie with any one party.

Finally, in answer to my initial question, the reason why there are so many false leaders, is because there are so many false members.

There are so many false pastors because the Christians who go to them comes with idols in their heart and only wish to hear words that satisfies those idols and not the truth. (2 Timothy 4: 1-4)

And there are so many false Christians because they have leaders who likes to teach/prophecy lies or speak when God hasn't sent them.

I believe this answers all the questions pertaining to "Why there are so many false Pastors/Prophets in Christianity". There will be no false leaders in a congregation if its members are like the Berean Christian in Acts 17: 10-12 or like the church in Revelation 2: 2-3 whom Jesus highly commended

So, if your church has a false pastor/prophet, CHECK YOURSELF; the members are certainly false, loving to listening to lies and not the truth.

If a church has members who are true Christians, two things will happen if they get sent a false pastor/prophet;

They will either convert the false prophet/pastor to become true, or they force him/her out of the church, IF AND ONLY IF they do not get weary.

Also, if a true pastor/prophet is sent to a church whose members are false Christians and delights in lies, two things will happen:

The church members will slowly and gradually get converted to true Christianity, or those who refused to be converted will be forced to leave of their volition if they want to continue living in their sin, IF AND ONLY IF the pastor/prophet do not get weary.

If you are in the category of those who says that there are no true pastors/prophets, it is because you are a false member; otherwise, you will know that there is always a Remnant (Roman 11: 1-5; 1 Kings 19: 18), and you should be praying to God to lead you to one.

1. According to Jesus Christ, who never gave Religion to His followers, Religion itself is founded on the doctrines and traditions of men which He said were lies that were antiChrist. So, how do you blame the gullible followers for their gullible leaders when the entire system? I kind of liken what you have there to blaming property owners for having their properties buggled by robbers. It doesn't add up. undecided

2. I seriously believe this is upside reasoning from you abeg! God disavowed Religion in its entirety which the Jews adopted after their brief foray in Babylon, declaring Himself the one and only Shepherd over His people - Ezekiel 34 vs 1 - 31. Jesus Christ outright condemned Religion by disavowing the religious leaders beginning with those of His own time — the Pharisees, Sadducees, and Teachers of the Law — along with their doctrines and traditions which He proclaimed were Lies that were designed to deceive and delude many away from God's Path - Matthew 15 vs 1 - 14 & Mark 7 vs 1 - 13. Jesus Christ went as far as to proclaim that He alone is the good Shepherd, implying all others who come proclaiming themselves shepherds over His flock were thieves who come to steal from His sheep, to kill the fat or His sheep, and to destroy His flock - John 10 vs 1 - 16. So, this attempt to argue that instead, the elements within religion are to blame and not religion itself as God pointed out is basically antiChrist reasoning. undecided

Jesus criticized the doctrines and traditions of men which transgress or seek to void the commandments of God. However, He did not declare all their doctrines as false. In Matthew 23:2-3 He advised people to follow what they taught, even though those teaching it didn't practice what they preached (Just as in today chuches)

Using your analogy also:

It's like saying a student failed WAEC exam because his secondary school teachers taught him incorrectly; therefore deeming the entire secondary school system false, Ought not the student go home to study the same material the teacher used to teach him?

And to answer yours:
Shouldn't the property owner secure his property to discourage bugglers/robbers?

Sorry I am rooted to only Christianity, the only discussion I have with people of other faith is Eph 1:17-18, not to convert, but for the eyes of their understanding to be enlightened, they will do the rest themselves

Jesus is the one good shepherd, but can a chief shepherd appoint sub-shepherds? Otherwise, He wouldn't have sent His disciples to do what He, as a shepherd, did, or even told Peter to feed and tend His sheep. Jesus is the One good shepherd, that can also delegate to other little good shepherds.

Regarding God disavowing Religion, James 1:27 suggest there's is a true religion that is undefiled despite the majority of false practices, Similarly as our understanding of fasting, like withholding food for a period, differs from God's perspective Isaiah 58:6

1. Jesus Christ never said anything about being a chief Shepherd. So, let's not twist the Words out of His mouth. Rather, what He said is that He is the "Good" Shepherd. undecided
7 So Jesus said again, “I assure you, I am the gate for the sheep.
8 All those who came before me were thieves and robbers. The sheep did not listen to them.
9 I am the gate. Whoever enters through me will be saved. They will be able to come in and go out. They will find everything they need. 10 A thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy. But I came to give life—life that is full and good.
11 “I am the good shepherd, and the good shepherd gives his life for the sheep.
12 The worker who is paid to keep the sheep is different from the shepherd. The paid worker does not own the sheep. So when he sees a wolf coming, he runs away and leaves the sheep alone. Then the wolf attacks the sheep and scatters them.
13 The man runs away because he is only a paid worker. He does not really care for the sheep. - John 10 vs 7 - 13
Jesus Christ said this proclaiming His capacity, not as a man, but as The Shepherd(God) over the sheep of God, Isreal. Recall, no man is good, only God is. undecided
... 11 The Lord God says, “I myself will be their Shepherd. I will search for my sheep and take care of them.
12 If a shepherd is with his sheep when they begin to wander away, he will go searching for them. In the same way I will search for my sheep. I will save them and bring them back from all the places where they were scattered on that dark and cloudy day.
13 I will bring them back from those nations. I will gather them from those countries and bring them back to their own land. I will feed them on the mountains of Israel, by the streams, and in all the places where people live.
14 I will lead them to grassy fields. They will go to the place high on the mountains of Israel and lie down on good ground and eat the grass. They will eat in rich grassland on the mountains of Israel.
15 Yes, I will feed my flock, and I will lead them to a place of rest.” This is what the Lord God said.
16 “I will search for the lost sheep. I will bring back the sheep that were scattered and put bandages on the sheep that were hurt. I will make the weak sheep strong, but I will destroy the fat and powerful shepherds. I will feed them the punishment they deserve.” - Ezekiel 34 vs 1 - 31
2. Jesus Christ outrightly condemns the doctrines and traditions of men — religion — as lies. What James referred to as true religion in his letter — caring for widows and orphans — are works that have nothing to do with the doctrines and traditions of men and hence not the definition of religion Jesus Christ is written to have condemned as nothing but lies that are engineered to deceive and delude the masses away from the Truth of God itself. So, let's stay away from muddling this all up, shall we? undecided

3. Your religious doctrines of fasting which is nothing different from starvation diets were never commanded by God of Israel, nor Jesus Christ to begin with. Yes, the kind of fasting God instead commanded is that written in Isaiah 58 and Zechariah 7. So, yes, Religion — which is the doctrines and traditions of men is against God and also against Jesus Christ. undecided

1. As Jesus Christ told you in that same passage you quoted from, they, the teachers of the Law, and not He, Jesus Christ, had authority given then by God to teach the people the Old Law of Moses. And since He, Jesus Christ did not come to change or abolish the Law - Matthew 5 vs 17 - 19 -, He advised the people, as stated in the Law, to listen to and obey the teachings given to them. That didn't mean that the teachings were of God though, as the same Jesus Christ condemned the many lies they spoke using the name of God, just as God Himself condemned the same through His prophets. undecided

2. Wrong! I am not the one who deemed the system wrong. God Himself did when He declared through His prophets, and also in Ezekiel 34, that not only was He setting Himself against His former shepherds who had taken it upon themselves to set up the system that is Religion to allow them not only administer but control His people using His name, He was also ready to judge and condemn them for their wickedness against Him. undecided

God never gave Religion .i.e. Judaism to the people of Israel. What God gave the people was a Constitutional Law and bid them all obey His Law and His Law alone. However, after their brief time in Babylon, the people came back believing themselves wiser than God. They then, in the fashion of the Babylonians, set up religion by which they then proceeded to manage the affairs of God and His access to the people through this system which allowed them to amass political power and control of their own— they made themselves into gods over God's people —, using the Name of God. That set them against God and was the reason why God is recorded to have not only disavowed them all but also promised to judge them all during the generation that Jesus Christ was a part of. undecided

3. What I said is the entire reasoning was all upside, to begin with. Why? Because God said Religion, not those within it, was against HIm. The religious do not worship God but their gods of men. undecided

Remember in Economics you were taught "nearness to supply and raw materials "

So visa scammers have to be near embassies, passport scammers have to be near passport office and atheists/Satanists/falls prophets have to be near bible and churches and Christians

Post is like an attack towards Christianity because you are giving other faith the upper hand to see more reasons to castigate Christianity which isn't right. Your topic alone has laid condemnation to Christianity with the fact that you don't have any statistical proof to back it up.
