You can never hide anything from the sun.

In some sense she is right, based on human perception of the sun. Seeing the sun from earth, you get a feel of the sun's shine.
Then you construct the idea that the sun gives a shine.
But in reality, the sun is star.
And observing the Sun in space, the earth's atmosphere which is collectively known as AIR (earth's atmosphere is composed of nitrogen, oxygen, and other gases) is what scatters sun's brilliant white light and let's us feel it's effects.

In essence what im a saying is that, humans build a perception based on what they think is correct. Saying you can never hide anything from the sun isnt totally right.

If you are in space, you can hide anything from the sun. That is why space is dark. The sun which is the only star in our solar system needs something to bring out its beauty. As beautiful as it is, you can feel it's beauty until it is comes in contact with an atmosphere or reflect off an object

Note 2
Now to the aspect of projection, the birth of a new sunshine is important for positive thought to stick and happen. This period is referred to as dawn. "the dawn of each day" is a precursor of the to a new sunshine.

Hide your thoughts in the dawn, and the morning sun will grow it for you.
Let's assume you are a farmer. Your thoughts is a farm on which you have planted some seeds. For the seeds to germinate into a reality, something has to summon it forth.
