Bros, there is nothing you have written that I did not hamper on in both threads above. But our men said nooooo. That women develop a country. I asked, which developed country had women at the forefront of its development? I offered to deactivate my moniker. Till date, no response.

If Nigerian men want their women to be chaste, they have to provide the environment for such to happen. So far, that has not happened. So, anything they see, they should take it like that. The complaints don too much.

And how many non-islamic countries have been able to achieve this in the world? U will want to list Asians(China and japan) cause na your only defense be that
European, Amercian and African countries looking up to the USA and copying everything about them would struggle to filter some civilization and would instead just do whatever is flying around over there

U think its that easy for a developing country swallowing every western agenda and looking forward to implementing their policies to suddenly start clamping down on the growing feminism/abnormal civilization in their country and hold their ground on chastising women in this age of "Equal right, Mind your own business, Its is my body and This isnt stone age"?

Papa, be realistic this time, thats the ideal solution but it isnt practicable

To be fair, a major reason we readily accept Western cultural practices with open arms is largely because we don't have a unified culture in Nigeria, and most importantly, we are poor. One thing I have come to realise in life is that humans admire the lives of rich people and aim to be like them in how they behave, not necessarily what brings them money. So, because we are poorer, we tend to copy the lives and cultural norms of the closest rich people we can find. These are Westerners; for colonial, geographical and linguistic reasons.

Another reason is religion. Countries that adopt the Western version of Christianity tend to assimilate Western cultures more than those that adopt the Orthodox version. Examples are South Korea and Singapore. They have varying levels of Westernisation in their societies. Unlike us, who copy everything out of low self-esteem and poverty, Koreans and Singaporeans tend to limit the levels they copy certain Western practices because they are also wealthy. Japanese and Chinese don't copy because they did not adopt Christianity and are also wealthy. Mind you, these four groups have varying levels of Confucianism in their cultures.

This level of Christianity shows in Nigeria. The way women dress in the south east and south south differ significantly from how they dress in the south west and parts of the north that are Christian-dominated. I bet you, Northern Nigeria's Christian women don't dress in the same manner as girls from Eastern Nigeria (south south and south east) do. This is why when people criticise or deride Nigerian women for certain attitudes, I laugh because there exists a sub-set of women who don't possess or, at least, display such attitudes publicly. Why is this so? Northern Christian women live in a Muslim-dominated environment where they have to behave like Muslims even though they are not. Islam cages women more than Christianity does, Western or Orthodox version.

Ultimately, we as men must provide the environment for our women to thrive. That is how it is everywhere. The likelihood of a Yemeni woman engaging in hookup is higher than that of an Emirati woman. There are reports many Northern Christian women are going into hookup because of the excruciating poverty as a result of continuous attacks on their farmlands by Fulani terrorists. In other places, the women can cultivate their crops peacefully because their men have provided security. In Northern Nigeria, Christian men are slaughtered, leaving the women to fend for themselves. With no man available to provide, the woman has to resort to what she naturally has to offer in times of survival. For men, it is crime. For women, it is selling their bodies.

A successful society is one where the men worked so hard to build. If the financial success of a household lies on the man, aka father and husband, why should it be different in nation-building?
