My husband told me that in his state (Ekiti State), the citizens cultivate cassava and sell the cassava to Cassava Processing Industries, and buys back the processed products (Garri and others) from them in a more costlier price.


In my state (Cross River State), we process our cassava ourselves, into Garri and fufu.


If only they knew that to procure these cassava grinding machines are relatively cheap, especially in Cross River State and if you can't get a presser at the moment you use sticks to press it, although you have to be taught how.



Not all citizens of Cross River State possess these machines, some own cassava mills where you can take your cassava there, pay some money and it will be grinded for you.

Most owners of mills go through the stress of pressing out the cyanide (cassava liquid) for you, while others roll the machine to your doorstep of which you have to do the pressing yourself.



So we're processing cassava to Garri at home, since we possess all the necessary tool.

My husband said that in his state (Ekiti State), the machine cost from 400,000 Naira to 1m Naira.
On Jiji, you can confirm this.


We bought this machine last year for as cheap as 150,000 Naira.
Right now, it's serving the purpose of which it was bought.
We've been using our machine for over a year now.

Currently, this machine goes for 200,000 Naira because of the inflation in Nigeria.


I strongly advise you get your machine now before the price escalates because nothing is goes down in this country.
