Only way this refinery benefits the average Nigerian man is obit drives the price of petrol to say at least #350 per liter. Everything's so expensive because petrol is expensive. 25 Likes |

wis3:by eliminating the need to import petrol, diesel, and more with forex, forex prices will crash thereby strengthening the naira. That means imported commodities like food, clothes and more will cost less to import and thus cheaper. It affects the common man irrespective of whether fuel goes for N1500 or N350 a litre. 96 Likes 15 Shares |

RepoMan007:I'm talking about the adverse effects this is having on Nigerians right here right now. People are paying x3 more for an item they bought a year ago? Why's this so? Fuel practically drives this country. High transportation means high cost of goods. The point is Nigeria exports next the nothing and the proceeds from the sales of crude will not do much to improve the worsening situation of the naira. Heck we import everything in this country 😵😵 14 Likes |

Seunpapa65: Nigerians can complain for this world rather than ask what can be done by everyone. The next thing, they run to another man's land. Dangote did his part, let's do our part. Largest refinery constructed for 7years while every other looters spends money but not creative or business establishment, only hotels. 27 Likes 5 Shares |

The most likely essential benefit is the disgrace of a crude producer not able to refine crude for it need once that is taken out by this refinery every other is add on. wis3: 2 Likes |

blancsn1:Newsflash. The leaders don't care @ the bolded. See Nigeria is a really hopeless country. It produces and generates next to nothing and the little it generates from crude sales is misappropriated or stolen. I travelled to a village in adamawa bordering Cameroon recently amd you should see how ships laden with cotton are being brought through the waters. It is offloaded by the banks where trucks to carry them and transport them to different parts of the country. Yet you wonder why there are no jobs. Nigeria's case is just absolutely hopeless as it stands today. 1 Like |

Re: Timeline Of Dangote Refinery Operations by HORLADY(m): 5:33pm On Jan 13 |
It will definitely have impact on the pump price because it will reduce if not totally eliminate the landing cost of refined products. Its all about lowering the production of which transportation is a major and adding a reasonable profit margin. The clause that it must serve Nigerian needs first before the excess is being exported is laudable. I have heard that Dangote himself has no regards for ethics in business, however this is not about Dangote as a person but about the business entity. Their operation will be largely influenced by corporate governance. All eyes are on Dangote especially in as it relates to this refinery business. Hopefully, other entities such as NNPC and BUA will come onboard soon to drive competition. 12 Likes |
