I'm disengaging toplaw, barr.emenike for these reasons, he cannot get CTC of my case from court. He first claimed some missing documents were in his car then later he claimed the court didn't give him complete documents. This questions his capacity to defend me in a murder accusation. He also charges extremely high fees for petitions and motions.

Toplaw Law firm: Good evening Nr Emmanuel, after a review of the briefs with my team, we came up as follows:

Writing and submission of each petition - #500,000
Follow up on each petition #350,000
(if there’s need to mobilize police for any investigations, you bear that separately)

2 petitions against 2 police officers
1 against Happy Uboh and his gang
1 to Attorney General
1 to the Chief Judge

Wholistic fee for all petitions inclusive of police mobilizations

3,500,000

Writing and filing of all the necessary court motions and applications #1,200,000
W: I'll be disengaging your legal services and requesting you return the documents. I find your fees absurd.
W: The average for petitions cannot be up to you quotes plus additional fees. Court processes in criminal defense is inclusive, what exactly are you charging these amount for ?. It's a crime to charge excessively. I'll be disengaging your counsel.

Your ability to get the CTC is questionable so I'm not confident in your representation.
You also did not carry out mediation.
I'd like a refund minus your single appearance.

I'm terminating toplaw for the reasons stated below which I've told him:

Toplaw cannot get CTC from court since last year till date, he brought a strange document missing documents I received earlier when I got the CTC.
He gives funny excuses on why he does not have the CTC of the case.
He also charged 3.5m for petitions and motions after charging 2m for mediation and defense.
I've asked him to cancel his representation and calculate my refund.

He's arguing that he cannot understand why I can't engage a lawyer that cannot get CTC or charge reasonably.
