You the OP are the problem .

Don't you know your country" formed in corruption is still corrupt. The NFF likes to hire quack OYIBO rejects that like to take bribe and share money.

Then, there is no incentive for anyone to play great for Nigeria when Nigeria does not respect them or their injuries...

Frankly, Black lives don't matter even in soccer.

Iam one of those rooting for the sack of poseiro before this tournament.. yes.but going by yesterday's game, honestly speaking our players have to be blamed. We created 7 good Chances and scored just 1. Is our coach expected to come in and score those goals? Please let's allow that Man to breath.
The team needs a psychologist, they dont know what winning is, they dont even understand what it means to wear the green jersey and represent Nigeria.

NFF hired a fraud, he is no coach.

How about the players? They are as useless as the coach.....

Did I hear you say average players? What will Equatorial Guinea say
Is it not 1, 1 we played?

Aside Osimehin which other really talented player do we have?

Average players is very good enough to beat a poor team like them. Average team is good enough for most teams in Africa except a few.

Do you really need Cr7, Messi, Mbape, Halaand before you can beat Guinea?
We will beat them five out of ten times and draw them 3times out of ten. Yesterday is one of those time we would draw

People only blame coaches but fail to admit that we have average players
a good coach turns average players into super players. This is why he's being paid. Those boys gave their best, but the coach was ineffective. No tactics, nothing.

It was a good game

But the truth is JP did not read the match well

The EQG team had a game plan to seat back and hit Nigeria on the counter

And there defense was shocked so can penetrate

In such a game as a coach direct play will not work

Because Nigeria was playing a direct ball making Osimhen the sole focus of our play. Of course the EQG will ensure they're all on him

What to coach should have done is to split thier defense by using more of the wings to drew them out.

And also use more strike option with at least two strikers.

He left it too late before bringing in wingers Chukweze..
And the striker at barely 3 minutes to go

Jose Peseiro is still a learner
d guy ni sabi. Tactically empty.

I dey live at Abidjan for AFCON & this match.

The Heat & Humidity is/was unbearable for me wey come from 9ja.

The people wey dey play for Europe no fit think well inside that heat.

Na wetin dey affect all the big teams oo. Na local players that are used to the humidity that would excel & adapt easily.

Don't compare to Saudi or Qatar - those guys put airconditioning for stadium and play mostly at night.

Try playing football at 30°C with Kano 70% humidity - na your body go tell you.

Too bad if you are used to European 4°C summer weather with 10% humidity

you're very correct. I still don't know why CAF won't consider players first in their decision. Who plays football under 32"? This tournament should be played at night to accommodate players.

What i noticed from the match yesterday is that this guys does not put in 100% shift like they do for their clubs they just want to exist the tournament and go back to their different clubs except for iwobi.

The reason I blame the coach is the lack of effort by the players. I couldn't believe Equatorial Guinea won more 50-50 than our boys. They were up to it. They had a game plan, from the goalkeeper to the forward, they knew what they wanted to do and executed it perfectly. So for that, I blame the coach. The only player going for 50-50s ended up injured and that was the best player on the pitch to me, Alhassan Yusuf. If your players don't show any effort and you don't call them out, then it's your fault.

That said, I still can't believe how we managed only one goal with the chances we had. How Osimhen missed that sitter is beyond me and our front line is to blame. I mean Osimhen, Moses, Iwobi, Onyeka. Only Ademola Lookman gave a good account of himself yesterday.

Our tactical play and discipline was terrible too. There was a time the opponent had a lot of free men in the middle of the pack when we went to press. They could play out so easily. It looked like we didn't do our homework to watch their previous games and see how they play. We probably overlooked them and went in to see how we could impose ourselves on them and we failed woefully. They had more ball possession. If we had done our homework and do a detail analysis of their play like professional football teams do, we could have found a way to win and impose ourselves.

I hope we at least get a draw in the next match.

As much as I hate to admit this, I believe our problems are more than physical. If osimhen was in napoli's jersey, he would have bagged an hattrick. There is this dark spirit that clouds our players whenever they are in Nigeria's jersey. Take a look at how oshoala bangs braces for barcelona and struggles here.

Something beyond the physical is going on. I believe it and I know I am not alone.

You are wrong.

The players seem to play better in their clubs because the club has been totally blended and all the players know their role and are used to playing together week in, week out, which also improves confidence on the ball etc.

In the Eagles it’s like they have joined a new team for a two week tournament, with unfamiliar players and system of play, in a disjointed team, which can affect general confidence of the team, team spirit etc. The presence of an inexperienced coach doesn’t help either.

I agree with your point of view sir. As someone formerly said, the Nigerian team that won it the last time comprised more of home based players who together regularly.

It's nothing spiritual! Lol! grin

A tree can't make a forest... The quality of a team is in the quality and synchronized play of all players.

That's why Mbappe can replicate what he does at club level in his national team... Same with Harry Kane, Lukaku, Ronaldo, Messi, etc.

They have the same excellent playmakers in their national teams as they do at club level.

In addition, they have seasoned coaches who know how to build solid and cohesive teams.

Nigeria hasn't had such quality of coaching and team selection since Stephen Keshi's run of 2013 (God rest his soul).

Everybody is referring to Stephen keshi's time. What he did should clearly be studied and utilized...

There have been so much debate about the green jesey over the years, but if you want to compare Osimhen and Oshoala's scoring form in their clubs vs country, you have to consider the crop of players they are playing with. See the case of Messi at Barcelona and messi at Argentina. he is not as effective in his country side as with Barcelona. same thing is affecting Osimhen and Oshaola

This is another good point that I agree with. Quality of team mates is important.

Do they surround themselves with quality players in their national team as their club sides. What about coaching differences and monetary incentive.Do you know how much osimhen and Oshoala earn at their club sides, now compare it with what NFF pay them and there is still likelihood they will still be owed. So you too judge yourself if you are in shoes, where will you put in a good shift between your club and the national team (Super Eagles). No be everything be spiritual.

😁😁😂😂

True sha. They are even careful not to have injuries because they know their country will abandon them.

Sloppy defense, no attacking prowess or creativity from the midfield, and lack of clinical attackers.

If they know their country would abandon them , then they should dishonor the invitation anytime they are invited. It’s not by force to play for the country. Abi would NFF shoot any footballer if they don’t honor invitation ?

It's not easy, seriously playing under extreme heat conditions will somehow reduce dia best in dis competition... tho is not an excuse as we can see Senegal with foreigners players also doing wonders...

Issue with super eagle players is dat dey play with over confidence... they play with the mentality of past glory... just see how the second match will go... I'm sure they will tka either serious dis time

I don't know the credentials that made him to start Simeon ahead of chukwueze

Simeon hardly give accurate pass, he hold on to ball too much, his long pass is always over the box
Oh really! The 25 mins or so of the play that chukwueze had ,point to any contribution he made to the team, infact he and aribo brought down the tempo of the game at a period when the SE should be on the edge. Aside alhasan , Lukman and osimen every other one should be sent parking from the team. Infact Simon tried small at least he kept that wing busy and when ever he was on the ball there was some vibes unlike other that are just running purposeless runs on the pitch. For about 7mins of his introduction aribo wasn't even seen on the pitch. Now that alhasan is injured , I wonder how they want to scale through the group stage

introducing new wingers in the beginning of second half would have change that game

Re: Super Eagles Fans.. What Did our Coach Actually Do Wrong? by Seunfretty: 7:43pm On Jan 15
Problems I notice ...we couldn't take control of the game and couldn't impose ourselves on the opponent and I notice we ve lost that since mikel left the super eagles...he always gives us that balance and control in the midfield

We should have gone with more home based players...the funny part is one of the reasons why we could t control the game is cos we had no rhythm...the only way that comes in football is when the team is a unit and they play more together...most of the players only see each other ones in a month or two to train...major reason why I said we should have mixed more home based...the aim wen we do that is to use them as hungry lions in midfield and some roles ..they will fight like mad men off the ball...we all see how Yusuf played

We don't an a playing identity

The body language isn't good enough...they aren't playing as if the are there go get the tournament...it's just about doing the little they can
