When We are Lonely

Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said,

“Never will I leave you;
never will I forsake you.”[a]

Hebrew 13:5

Spending time alone has two sides to it. We get to have some time to reflect on our lives, relax our minds and rest our bodies. Loneliness can be a blessing in that we get to rejuvenate ourselves.

What happens when loneliness becomes not beneficial. When we are left alone to deal with our life problems and brood over our mistakes. Loneliness can be cruel as we may need counsel and encouragement from people but don’t get it. When we are lonely we must remember that God loves us and is always by our sides.

God doesn’t leave us to face our problems all by ourselves. He doesn’t allow us to wallow in solitude. Rather he is by us reaching out to us in loving ways. God loves us so dearly to leave us alone. He said ” never will I leave you”. Our friends and family may abandon us but God never leaves us. He is always there to help us in our loneliness..

Key Point: God never forsakes those he loves.

Prayer : Lord help me to remember that I have you whenever I feel alone. Amen
