Is It Proper To Ask For ATM Pin by Godwin616: 6:48pm On Jan 23
My Dad is close to 80 years and obviously old age is already telling on him although he still appears active because of his military background. I found out he's very conservative when it comes to revealing his account details. He either uses the banks ATM machine or personally goes to a POS agent nearby even when we offered to go and help him to make the withdrawal. It appears he trust no one. Going by this attitude, it may be difficult to access his account in case he passes on. I deliberately did not ask him for his account details in order not to give impression we are interested in his savings. He mentions he has little shares in a company but never give full details. By the grace of God, God has blessed me too with a little properties . My Children all have knowledge of my properties including my ATM pin. As a matter of fact my eldest daughter uses the same ATM pin as mine because she is so familiar with it and I see no big deal with it. If your children do not know your ATM pin, who else. Considering how difficult it is to secure letter of Administration from courts after the demise of the loved ones without a written will, am just wondering is it proper to ask my aged parent of his account details.
