Anambra Landlord Refunds House Rent To New Tenant On Hearing He's From Ebonyi State

The affected tenant, Ifeanyichukwu Eluu, who's a Pastor shared his experience online. He wrote:

β€œThe last experience I had, getting an apartment in Anambra state wasn't a good one. I had paid 100%

for the apartment to the caretaker, preparing to settle in after signing the necessary tenancy agreement the following day.

"But there was a reconsideration afterwards, we had stayed for a longer time in a hotel. So, we needed to quickly move into the property, of which we informed the caretaker about the move. We rushed to get the basic things to equip the house right away and the same evening, we moved into the house.

"Around 12 midnight, I saw an alert of the exact Money I paid to the caretaker. I called him right away, he said the landlord refunded the Money when he heard we're from Ebonyi state," Abakaliki" as generally refered.

"I felt so insulted, embarrassed, as well, very concerned at such level of discrimination against fellow brothers.

"The last place I finally got a house, the Man asked where I'm from, I told him "Afikpo". Then he said, okay, I know Afikpo, they are partly Abia state, I can consider you, that's how we settled. But I wasn't happy that I had to route through such bias just to get a house to live in

"Please, let the concerned handlers review this in time, hence the maxim "Igbo bu ofu".

Bros, you F up.

You want the Handlers to do something when low self esteem has eaten deep into your system.

Haven't you heard! "It begins with you"?
Why didn't you just tell the new Landlord and keep telling any Landlord should he or she cares or not that you are from Abakiliki and have their reaction.

Any one who doesn't want to rent his house to you simply because of that should hug a Transformer.

But low self esteem couldn't let you do just that.

On another note, your people are something else, please don't feel offended, but it's a gospel truth.

Am unapologetic Igbo man but I must say the brutal truth.
This is exactly why Biafra or Biafra can never exist or even if it actually does, exist beyond two or three years, before it descends into civil war.
Imagine discrimination against fellow Igbos because of their state of origin.
It's only a compound fool who will believe in Biafra, with all these discriminatory attitudes.

op,do you know why in Onitsha mgbuka market people is till today been called names ?it's because it's the only market that is dominated by Abakiliki people.
A market where a servant and oga will be sharing the same kpekus.
A market where people holds phone and other valuable items for two people fighting themselves instead of separating them.
This market,if your wife is young and started hawking goods in that mgbuka market, just forget her.they will tease her continuously with money until they sleep with her,.
Can you imagine,?somebody's wife !
Abakiliki man will tell you it's only him that is going to occupy the apartment you rent out to him,but when he go village he'll drag one person along with him.on his next visit to village again two more people will follow him, before you know sup, they are up to 5 people o.
But the most very annoying part of the whole thing is that once they occupy as a tenant in your house, you can't never give them quit notice in peace.theyll like to flex muscles with the landlord before they vacate your place.

I'll never advise my person to habour people from that state, they are among the reasons upper iweka and Onitsha at large is being given a bad name

No matter how you try to white wash it, this is discrimination and should be condemned by every good citizens of this country. I should be judged by my action and words and not by what a fellow community man did.

If an Anambra can do this to an Ebonyi man, the said man will do worse to a yoruba or Fulani.

People don't change,if you think you know better than everyone else that has been discriminating people from that side, please have one of them as your tenant or your room mate.
A first hand experience is the best experience
