Tinubu kept his promises, but some of his supporters are upset; I want to know why.

Things were bad under Buhari – security, the economy, inflation. Tinubu said he'd continue from where Buhari left off, and he did. So why are some supporters mad? What did he promise that he didn't do?

Why complain about the exchange rate when Tinubu already hinted the naira wouldn't be stable? You earn in Naira and spend in Naira so what is your concern with dollars? Remember that?

I don't get why some who voted for him are disappointed. What did he promise that he hasn't done?

By saying he'd continue from Buhari, he indirectly promised:

1. More inflation, and that happened.
2. Insecurity, and it's still there. It is even worse now.
3. A weaker naira, Oh Yeah.
4. Economic challenges, Hold my beer.

So, why the disappointment now?

Tinubu promised 24/7 electricity and non estimated billings.

He said petrol would sell at ₦100 per litre.

But I know better now. He probably never did anything special in Lagos. He just got lucky or maybe Nigeria is bigger than him.

To think it is less than a year in office.

And we have 7 to go. His diehard fans should add 7 to their current ages. Someone like Kaypèrry would be at least 50.

Point me to where he said this

At Ogun campaign ground he said in Yoruba in his stammering voice "Wón ṣọ́rọ́ epo, epo awón, a di 500, a lọ 200. Ẹ lọ fọ́kán bálẹ́. À ma gbé wàlẹ"

Interpretation: "They are talking about the issue of fuel, fuel will cost, it'll be 500, it'll be 200... Go and relax, we will bring it down"

I have the video or you can browse it.

I knew he wouldn't perform since nobody was able to say exactly what he did in Lagos. The argument that one man built a former capital couldn't sway me. The talks about bringing those who built Lagos and having a master plan couldn't convince me either. The reason is that I have been with old people, and I know that life is a circle. The place it starts is almost like the place it ends.

Children can't rule; aged people act like kids and shouldn't be entrusted with leadership. My only disappointment is that I didn't expect him or anyone to be worse than Buhari.

People in their thirties who voted for APC will be in their late forties and early fifties when Tinubu is done if he wins a second tenure. I am not sure they have thought about that.

The truth is he didn't do any reasonable things in Lagos. Had it been it's the era of social media all those lies wouldn't have fly but you don't expect a country where people see black and call it white to support the truth.

Well the reality is on ground now and everyone can see it with their korokoro eyes.

Well said!! I didn't expect anyone to outdo Buhari's incompetence! And Buhari used to forcefully address us with scripted sympathy and speeches. This one doesn't send sef.

D
Same thing.
Wanted Obi to win, though my first choice was Atiku but I felt that power must return to the South because these Northerners cannot be trusted.
But when Obi lost,I felt Tinubu was going to do well, but alas, just like in the case of Buhari, these are men built solely on propaganda and lies.
When the failure became obvious, one then began to take a critical look at his 8 year tenure in Lagos State and o my God!
This man's only achievement was the hype that when Obasanjo stopped Lagos federal revenue,Tinubu sustained the state from IGR only!It was on that basis that all other lies were built.
He set up Enron that was a conduit of corruption, aside never ever producing one single watt of power.
He left Lagos as a dump site, that was why Fashola was hailed when he started his beautification work.
He never improved nor installed new water works, till today 95% of Lagosians generate their own water.
He left roads in horrible states.
The IGR from his heavy taxation policies also became one of the chief ways he generated his enormous wealth because I think 15% or so was going into the pocket of the company he used as front to collect these taxes.
Many of the Hospitals now operating well were upgraded during the tenure of Fashola.
Obi may not have done any miracle but honestly the way Tinubu has governed has clearly shown the man has little upstairs.
Only a dimwit would have at his swearing-in announced that fuel subsidy was gone followed by floating of the naira without taking a few months or weeks at worse to sit with his economic team to look at all angles and how best to go about it

Tinubu didn't do anything special in Lagos. The best governors Lagos had during this dispensation of democracy was Fashola and Ambode.

There were no working like street lights and traffic lights on almost all Lagos major roads and connecting streets during Tinubu's administration.

Oshodi, Eko isale, Mushin...etc, were grooming grounds for touts. You can't pass these areas from 8pm without getting robbed cos there weren't street lights to illuminate the surroundings.

Tinubu had problem with all his deputies from Femi Pedro to Akerele. They all complained of how he constantly ignored due process and wanted things done his own way.

Tinubu started the politics of imposing his candidates on lagosians. Whoever he chooses becomes an elected public office holder in Lagos State regardless of whether or not the people want the candidate.

Is that the kind of person you were expecting to work? You can't give what you don't have. Tinubu is more like a mob boss. He grooms thugs for his political assignments, he has no concern towards the people. He's only interested in enforcing his policies on the already improverished populace.

Lol...he was not unfairly judged in the slightest.

All the signs were there. From jerky movements to incoherent speech. I am 90% sure he has Parkinson's disease.

He should answer question, he was delegating questions to his lackeys, and educated people were defending it.

These pains are temporal ..... Sure it will hurt but it's better to go through the hurt phase before things turn around for the better

See my brother..... Many things have gone very wrong in this country..... Fixing it takes time
What most Nigerian leaders past and present don't have is time to govern and it's tied to the way we play politics .... Politicians are fixated with getting to power that they use all their resources to get there only to get there famished and unable to perform.
Why is it this hard to get to power?
The polity is heavily monetized.
You need huge resources to become president and if you don't have it.....there are those who will provide......

When true lagosians were telling you that he has nothing to offer apart from more tax and inflation people choose to be delusional.

Funny enough Nigerians will never have sense. If elections were to hold again today they will still line up in the sun to vote APC after collecting 2 indomies2

Really?
Has President Tinubu fulfilled his campaign promises? Just a little may be!

For me, PBAT has only done little though I will personally give him the benefit of the doubt.
But concerns are everywhere. Our economy is in free fall and insecurity is still there with us.
Food production has stopped because herdsmen terrorists from a certain region of the country have taken over our farmlands and forests and want to make the country ungovernable at all cost.

PBAT must wake up please. Nigeria is becoming a failed state. We dont need another Somalia, Libya, or Lebanon in West Africa.
