Nigerians are foolishly religious.

I could remember when I relocated to a new state and was looking for accommodation, do u know 80% of landlords were asking after my church...the same Christianity o. Not that I'm of different religion.

I told one that I am a Catholic and also attend winners. He said he can't rent his house out to me that I don't even know where I stand. That I need to take a stand on the church to attend bla bla bla....

I later got an apartment in this state and we were 4 tenants plus the landlady. The landlady, an old woman, most Sundays, would always come to ask why I didn't go to church... That I should try and be going to church bla bla...like shey I no pay u rent ni?

When I packed out was when she said that all of us would be having bible studies every Sunday evening.... Omo I just had to run....infact I left the state entirely.... I can't stand religious morons.

Heaven is a personal race...no drag anybody follow yourself, after all you came to this world alone.

But Nigerians would want to drag every dick and Harry into their nonsense.
Nigerians are stupid. Infact a black man is a stupid creature whose Schrodinger wave function is close to zero.

If people can gather and pray for a faulty transformer to transmit electricity then there's nothing they can't pray for.

Anybody wey dey use prayer cover work never serious.

Is there any societal problem solved by prayer or scientific invention discovered by prayer? Mention one thing wey prayer don solve for this life?

Prayer does not work. It is time to tell gullible Nigerians the truth.

Good evening my fellow Nairalanders....Hope y'all are currently enjoying the economic shege we've been plunged into? grin. Any ways, that's a story for another day....

So this morning,I woke up,hoping to kick start my daily hustle with my tricycle (popularly known as keke), only for me to get there and discover that it was having an ignition fault............Well,then I thought I could just apply the little engineering knowledge I learnt while in school on it, but all my efforts were to no avail. grin

A neighbor of mine who was passing by who saw how I was struggling with it approached me......He asked me what the fault was.....So after I told him........The next thing I heard him say was--"you sure say you no go carry this your keke go meet my pastor so?

Omoh, tho I tried to be calm but I was forced to reply him with a question--"That your pastor sabi repair keke?". cheesy. Immediately I asked him that question,he turned his back and walked away............

But omoh, why are Nigerians so over religious like this? Must we accrue every single problem that can easily be solved by mankind to God? The thing just tire me I swear....

it is an inevitable symptom of the fuckery in nigeria

your keke has a simple problem but

1) your mechanic is crooked or incompetent
2) the spares are low quality or fake and sold as 'original'
3) you misuse and abuse the keke

in a society with less fuckery - repairs would actually work. in nigeria you have to be a subject matter expert on multipel isseus and sit with the so called artians to ensure they dont fk your machine up even more.

the merry go round of incompetent repairs is why people will start assigning supernatural causes to systemic issues.

After reading what you wrote here.... If it's true and not cruise, I see you in higher places. Where you are now is a stepping stone as God will use the foolish things of these world to put to shame the wise. You are a city set on hill that can not be hidden. Be patient and labour in dedication and passion... Your miracle is on the way!!. You are blessed in Jesus name.

Man must be able to differentiate and acknowledged there is physical and as well spiritual problems

If you are a type who doesn't biliv thr spiritual problems you are walking dead

And if you are the type who biliv every problem is spiritual you are not different from mad man.

Now, back to OP, in as much I blame ur neighbor more, I wouldn't totally blame him, perhaps, he might have seen you repairing ur Keke incessantly and biliv it might have defied all mechanical ways of solving it, hence asking u to go spiritual.

BUT AFRICANS MUST LEARN HOW RO SOLVE THEIR PROBLEMS OUTSIDE OF SPIRITUAL FIRST.
Na sarcasm be this?
Someone's business started failing cos he refused to innovate and new businesses on the block took over.
What did he do?
He went to a prophet and was told to buy and sacrifice a big cow that he had enemies hovering around him.
He bought the cow instead of finding ways to innovate his business.
Long story short, the business packed up.

Instead of taking responsibility for one's problems and finding solutions, people would rather put blame on others.
Innovate or die!

I have said it, that the day Nigerians will replace Religious and political sycophancy with STEM. All our problems from economy to insecurity will start solving itself. But religion and politics is what controls the people science and tech liberates the people so those in power would not want that

If u mistakenly carry ur Keke to the pastor u will be shocked to hear him tell u to use the keke to sow seed.
Someone was told to use his his gratuity to sow seed. Another in a private uni was asked to use her school fees to sow seed.

Overtly religious people but will never practice what they preach. Your politicians rig election results without conscience and still go to church for Thanksgiving.

Yahoo boys will say "Oluwa bless my hustle". I don't get it.

A colleague of mine who thinks he is religious and always in a prayer mood recently did an underG work that I got to find out about but decided not to say anything on it.

My neighbor down my street who is always accusing her mother-in law of their financial state is always screaming at the top of her voice praying but this woman has a nasty attitude. Most of her customers stopped patronizing her because of her foul mouth but she'll never admit she's the issue that needs to be fixed.

My former colleague travelled to the UK and he told me, most of the things we are rolling on the ground and praying for is what the UK government provides for its citizens. Now imagine a bunch of dumbos praying for a faulty transformer. This is something a working government will fix in no time.
Religion is truly the opium of the poor masses cry
