NANS Senate President Visits OSPOHAS, Appreciates Students for giving him the Mandate.

The Senate President of the National Association of Nigerian students, Comrade Ekundina Elvis, took his campus to campus tour from northwest back to southwest as he visited the Ogun state Polytechnic of Health and Allied Sciences (OSPOHAS), Ilese-Ijebu, Ogun State.

In a show of appreciation, the senate president of the apex students body in Nigeria appreciated the students of the institution for trusting him and giving him the mandate to function in his current capacity as the senate president and for giving him a grand welcoming to their campus. He also promised not to let them down and uphold the right of every Nigerian students.

He also addressed the students union government executives and leaders, while admonishing them to be of good behaviour and represent good ambassadors, he also admonished them to work in unity and always present a united front as a divided house cannot stand against itself. For progress, all members of the leading team must be in unity and one accord.

He visited the school clinic, inspected the state of the road network in the campus and also inspected capital projects of the students Union.

He then proceeded from there to hold a discussion with the Dean of students affairs and where he was congratulated on his emergence and listened to. He also told the Dean to take the students as his children and always defend the interest of the students as his own as he has always been doing.

The senate president also met with the rector and management team of the school where several matters were discussed. One of the issue discussed was the issue of insecurity, where the senate president reiterated the importance of a safe environment for students as it is top of the welfarism needs of students on campus, off and around campus.

He also discussed the issue of mobility for the students union leaders, where he requested that the management repair and put into right shape the students union bus to ensure smooth mobility for union activities, stressing the importance as it eliminates the stress of mobility.

Also discussed was the issue of power supply to students residents areas and on campus which was seen as an important factor in learning process. Added to this was the issue of road network in the campus.

The senate President also raised the issue of intimidation of students union leaders and stressed the importance of why management must ensure Staffs refrain from this act but rather guide the students leaders instead of intimidating them.
In addition to this the senate President also requested the immortalisation of past students union leaders who paid their dues and sacrificed a lot for the campus today and as such these people should be remembered and immortalised.

Comrade Elvis made it clear that the students are his top priority and concern as he would strive to uphold the rights of the students in his capacity.

He also used the opportunity to commend the rector and the entire management team of the institution for their premium efforts to delivering quality welfarism to their students. He passed a vote of confidence on the rector and implored others institution heads to emulate his leadership style.

Comrade Elvis also spoke to the ASUP OSPOHAS Chapter Leadership and they discussed about the lecturers maintaining friendly relationship with the students even in the process of impacting knowledge to the students.
