I remember clearly during campaign for elections in 2023, all four major aspirants insisted they'd immediately end fuel subsidy and implement strict policies against the exchange rate with the US Dollar.

If a child is born with bow or K-leg, in the child's early years, leg braces alone can be used to correct the defect. The child will still have to endure pains on every step s/he takes. If that child grows into and adult of say 50+ years and then decides to correct the birth defects, it is suffice to say the person will experience hell on earth before seeing results.

Fela sang and complained bitterly when the price of a loaf of bread rose to 60 Kobo. He even complained that the bread was all yeast and little flour. I wasn't born then but when I got into my formative years, the cheapest loaf of bread was ₦50. Compared to today, that bread was thick and filling when you eat it. During Jonathan's tenure, we complained bitterly just as we're doing today about inflation and the cost of food items. Google even returned search results for must cursed president with President Jonathan's photos.

Nigeria is structured so the rich get richer while inflation is set on arithmetic progression. It is important to know that the removal of fuel subsidy has enraged the elite more than the masses. There is a cabal of people cut across all ethnicities in Nigeria who make billions of Dollars illegally from fuel subsidy. This cabal is also cut across political lines and government ministries. It is not a secret that there are many Nigerians who are richer than Dangote but there's very good reason they never make Forbes magazine. These people can greatly influence policies and government. They are also the people who determine the exchange rate of the US Dollar. This gives them an immense sense of control. They're the ones who will silently fund election campaigns and have every President's ear. President Tinubu stepped on their collective toes by ending fuel subsidy.

The Nigerian economy is predetermined by these cabal because they own the biggest companies and are Nigeria's major importers. Our economy is largely dependent on imports. For donkey years, these people got Dollar at half the official exchange rate from the CBN for their importation business. Some of this Dollar goes to their nameless bureau de change companies. Combined, both businesses bring them an untold fortune that runs into trilions of Naira at the expense of the average Nigerian citizen. These are the people I believe are currently sabotaging our economy.

Our religious standing gives us room to blame the devil when things go bad or are not in our favour. We also tend to believe 'someone is doing us'. We have a terrible trait of having someone else to blame. This is why since 1999, our focal point of blame has always been the president of the federation. Nobody wants to hold their respective governors, local government chairmen, Senators and legislators accountable as well. Yes, if the head is faulty, the rest of the body will malfunction but it is important to know that in Goodluck Jonathan and Bola Tinubu, we've had our most intelligent presidents but corruption has eaten so deep into the system that it is almost an incurable cancer. I remember when Jonathan said Boko Haram had infiltrated his administration. He wasn't lying. Saboteurs are real and they never go away.

Ask yourself who are the biggest losers in Tinubu's strict policies? They're the saboteurs.
It is also noteworthy that the world is poised and being groomed towards the next world war and the global economy is also greatly affected. Nigeria is not alone in this hyperinflation. Price of food and basic commodities are rising astronomically around the world and countries whose economy is heavily reliant on importation are the worst hit.

Are saboteurs the ones who made the idiot said no more subsidy at his inaugural speech and are the saboteurs the ones who made the criminal undertake suicidal economy policies?

Fact remains..stability depends largely on the subsidy on Petroleum products...as that's the only incentive the masses enjoy akd its tied to so many things..

Bring back subsidy, open the borders, cut down on administrative overhead, kill corruption, provide a stable electricity and provide security to farmers and see if everything won't stabilise within 3months..!!

The stupid politicians wants to keep enjoying at the detriment of the masses and they think by some miracle nobody would talk...!!

Hunger no be anybody mate when it come calling..!!

The saboteurs are the government themselves look no further..!!!

What would be the relevance of bringing back fuel subsidy? I can tell you for a fact that Nigeria's inflation is set to arithmetic progression. If subsidy is brought back, I can assure you the price of commodities will never ever reduce.

There is no sabotage anywhere. When any country is gravitating towards any major policy shift, some would be right while others would be wrong after full implementation of the policy. Sowore and the SDP Presidential candidate both predicted that removing fuel subsidy would be a mistake of historical proportions while Obi, Atiku and Tinubu sided with the IMF inspired policy of subsidy removal. The IMF believe that poor countries that always approach them with begging bowls are overindulging their poor masses by providing cheap fuel so they put out lots of propaganda demonizing subsidy. It is like someone who wears Gucci and Fendi going to borrow money from someone that wears okrika. Their citizens pay a lot for fuel so it miffs them to see citizens of poor borrower nations buying cheap fuel.

Now, the verdict is in and all Nigerians have seen first hand those who were correct and those who were wrong. Removal of fuel subsidy has decimated the middle class and enlarged the poverty pool by all measures. Beware of the delusional supporters of other candidates that would say subsidy removal would have had a different outcome with the candidate they supported. It is a lie.

You appointed 10 Ministers from NW and five from SE and made sure the SEs were women.

Made all your advisers yorubas and n.muslim job seekers. Changed CBN Gov without due process.

Refuse to appoint Petroleum Minister. Kept aboki at NNPC. Kept Igbos out of your "lokan"... and you are still looking for the sabotage? Take Torchlight.

Prices of commodities won't come down becos of "Human/naija factor" not becos of Market forces.

Human factor can be contained and curb wheer there is willingness and deliberate effort on the part of govt,

You said somethings about "Saboteurs" lets agree there are saboteurs or cabal ... are these people really "Invisible" as Govt tend to project them, did Buhari govt not acknowledge to know those sponsporing Boko haram, did they release there names or prosecute them

Tinubu is an inside Man, infact their is no intestine inside a chick that the eagle does not know, Tinubu knows the movers & shakers of these country But he won't do nothng becos they are caucus, one way or the other they have joint interest and have each other damaging secrets

They know the problem but they intentionally shoot off target, using policies to cajole us

Nigeria problem is more of human factor not policies, govt must step on toes or nothing will work

You people kept writing rubbish just to defend Tinubu the four major contestants said that they will remove the fuel subside fine did they tell him how and plans that they will put in place before removing it. this rightly shows that Tinubu have nothing to offer just because other contestants said that they'll remove fuel subsides on the day of his inauguration he yes said that fuel subsides is gone without having any plans to curb the inflation and hardship that accompanies it ..you still have time to write trash in this forum just wait for more two weeks from today if Tinubu's administration don't address the situation then you'll know that your village people are the ones sabotaging his government

Excuse galore. You people are so shameless

Oilwell:
THE CURRENT SUCCESS OF THE SUPER EAGLES;
From the glory days of the Mighty Green Eagles up to the Super Eagles today, international football is the only national enterprise - that unites us as a nation and milks from us the purest form of Patriotism any people can give a nation. Not even England can match Nigeria’s level of patriotism.

There is something hallowed and untouchable about international football in Nigeria. Our Eagles are like priests in the field as they salute the dreams and aspirations of every Nigerian to soar high as they open their mouths and sing, “Arise O Compatriots Nigeria’s call obey, To serve our Fatherland with love and strength and faith, The labours of our heroes past shall never be in vain, To serve with heart and might, One nation bound in freedom, Peace and Unity”.
Ready to go to war. For pride and country. These Eagle priests are decked in our national colours, the, “Deep Green Grass - Peace White - Fertility Green - flag; it’s more than a symbol, it is more than a colour. It’s the rich green blood that flows through this ancient land. The green blood that flows and irrigates the veins and the inland waterways that nourish our Cocoa, Oil Palm, Cotton, Rubber, Groundnut and Cassava fields.

Many might disagree with what I am about to say now - but I don’t think there is any nation on earth that can match the Patriotism of Nigerians at international competitions. Not even mighty England whose clubs and English players we bow down to in absolute devotion. Have you ever heard a Nigerian miss a penalty or goal and we blamed his ethnicity or religion? Never! But do you know in the English national team if a black player misses a penalty kick - abuses, curses and insults by white English fans flood social media. In 2020 Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Bukayo Saka were treated as, “just black” rather than English once they missed penalties in the Euro 2020. The racial slur was so bad the Prime Minister had to come out and apologise to Black British residents. Discrimination is not part of football in Nigeria. There are no Igbos, Hausas or Biroms players - we are all one tribe - one Nigeria! We are better than the English.

But guess what - just supposing members of the Super Eagles were suddenly made political appointees, what do you think would happen? I can tell you for free. Confusion of cataclysmic proportions would engulf the team and the nation. Competence, professionalism and experience would be relegated in favour of ethnicity, regionalism and religion. We would all want representation in the national team. Even my village Afaha Offiong would demand our very own world class goalkeeper Ikrang Ubek gets a spot in the national team. Since 2012 no ball has gone Ikrang’s legs at our inter-village matches in Nsit nation.

As for the Igbos their numbers would immediately be depleted as each state and tribe fields its own indigenes. And if William Troost-Ekong is the team captain at AFCON today - at the 2026 World Cup the captaincy would have to rotate to the North. Turn by turn. Not turn by competence.

Now, it is clear that Nigeria’s inability to move forward as a nation is not corruption, tribalism or religion - those are mere symptoms. The real disease is the complete absence of a Patriotic zeal and Nationalistic fervour, the same selfless Patriotism we are witnessing in our squad and our nation today. The same Patriotism that has made China, America, Britain, Brazil and even India great nations today. Rather what we have is a primordial political desire to take ownership of Nigeria from our ethnic blocs. This is what has robbed Nigerians from moving as One Patriotic cohesive bloc. But in international football these divisions melt away, win or lose, we stand as one tribe called Nigeria.

Politically we don’t appear to be One Nigeria. Because we are deeply divided into blocs of ethnic Political, Economic and Religious interests. But in international football on the field, by some miracle all our parochial tendencies all seem to disappear, our One Nigerianess is celebrated. There is no Igbo, Yoruba, Annang, Idoma or Hausa. There is no Christian or Moslem. Only competence on the highway of GLORY. When a Nigerian or group of Nigerians aim for Glory, I have noticed there is no tribe or tongue. Nigerians are a people that thirst for GLORY. Because deep down we know we are the leaders and undisputed kings of the black race on the planet. Did you know 1 out of every 5 black person on earth is a Nigerian? Nigeria is the Moses of the Black race. There is a huge weight of responsibility to showcase the very best of the black race to the world. Excellence comes naturally to us. And all other black nations, black people and the world look up to us. We crave to be the best in everything that we do. This is why we are - Apolitical, excuse my language; Tribeless and Religionless when it comes to our national team. This is the sort of Patriotism that can propel Nigeria build the first Black rocket to the Moon.

The question therefore is - if our National team and International football brings out such Uncommon Patriotism from Nigerians - how can the Federal Government invest and sustain this Spirit of Patriotic cohesiveness inside and outside the pitch?

But perhaps the much bigger question is this - seeing that the national team draws us together, blinds and deafens our eyes and ears from the endemic parochialism which has crippled us over the years, can the Federal Government invest massively in the national team without politics sprouting from the wings of the Super Eagles? Is there a way of converting the velocity of this Patriotic zeal into other areas of the nation especially our economy? I am sure we can.

In conclusion from the prescriptive data one can say the current success of Nigeria is not because there are 12 Igbos out of 25 players, 22 Christians out of 3 Muslims, 21 Southerners out of 4 Northerners, 12 States out of 36 States. No! Diagnostically our current success can be attributed to the purest form of Patriotism exhibited by both players and the nation, you and I. Where tribe and tongue may differ in brotherhood we stand. In a land where Patriotism is defeating parochialism.
