Usually hypertension doesn't show any symptom at all...

That's why it is called asymptomatic i.e No symptom

This means a person can be walking around, looking fine and healthy, yet is with a BP as high as 158/102 mmHg and might not know that something is wrong within

That's why it is called SILENT KILLER

Such a person can suddenly develop a heart attack or stroke or renal failure without any prior warning

But there are some lucky people who end up noticing some symptoms earlier when they develop hypertension

Are you wondering why I'm calling them lucky?

Because most Nigerians would never go to the hospital until they feel PAIN or DISCOMFORT

So they are lucky because once they notice these symptoms early, it will force them to go to the hospital

And from there, they will find out they are hypertensive and begin treatment Immediately

Uncontrolled hypertension can lead to very severe complications like Stroke, Heart Failure, Renal failure, Heart Attack, Retinopathy, Impotence, Blindness etc

So the following symptoms can be noticed if you have Hypertension

1) Severe headache
2) Fatigue/confusion/dizziness
3) Vision problems
4) Chest pain
5) Difficulty breathing
6) Irregular heartbeat
7) Pounding in neck or ears

If you're noticing most of these symptoms at once, get a BP machine immediately and check your BP

If it's about 140/90mmHg or above, then it signifies you are hypertensive. Go to the hospital and see a Doctor to prevent Hypertensive Crisis
