According to a statement released by the Media Adviser to the Minister, Orji Uchenna Orji, the government aims to delve into the challenges faced by cement manufacturers and analyze the substantial disparity between the ex-factory price and the market price of cement.

The Minister emphasized that despite significant patronage by road and housing contractors, the cost of cement has continued to rise. The urgent meeting seeks to bring together major players in the industry, including renowned manufacturers such as Dangote, BUA, Lafarge, and others, to address the pressing issue.

Since the closure of the borders,local manufacturers have being exploiting Nigerians in the guise of job creation.

The government should open our borders and allow importation just as they are exporting crude oil to international markets.

Dangote is getting dollars at a very cheap exchange rate.
