The Nigerian President, by constitution, is the Chief security officer of the country. This means that, he has all the armed forces at his disposal and has the sole power to deploy them to any troubled area of the country. It also means that the security of lives and properties of the citizens is his responsibility.

Also, the President is the Chief Economic Planner. He comes up with economic policies that should be able to better the lots of the common Man, to make medium and small scale businesses to Thrive.

The above are the two Major functions/Duties of the Nigerian President. A country whose Citizens are not safe and secured can never thrive economically. A country where Traders can not travel without fear of being kidnapped, a country where criminals, Bandits, insurgents and Fulani herdersmen are having a field day without the swift intervention of those who are meant to protect us, a country where businessmen and common individuals cannot go about their normal day to day business activities cannot flourish economically.
Nigeria, at the moment is bleeding. The citizens are weeping, we can't afford a three square meal to eat, undergraduates are dropping out of school due to high tuition fee, house rents cannot be paid, the prices of commodities continue to skyrocket while salaries remain the same. The rich and the poor buy commodities from same market and the poor man appears to be the most affected of these harsh economic policies of the government. Naira has lost its value due to the inflation. The inflation is not just a creeping or galloping inflation, but a Hyper-inflation which is so bad.
Amidst all these chaos and uncertainties, it is obvious that the president has no clearcut economic policies that would transform the economic fortunes of the country. He also cannot guarantee our safety. It's really very disheartening to say the least.
Should a president not resign for his inability to do all these? I understand that Power can be so sweet and no Politician can just resign and own up for his incompetence or inability to solve these problems.
I'm therefore compelled to ask this, has any democratically elected president of this country resigned before?
Did any Head of State resign during that Era?
I'm not asking if Some Heads of states had been overthrowned before by coup de'tat or any other means. I mean resigning voluntarily or by compulsion of any kind.

Wrong answer. Non of them were elected presidents. They were all military men who got to the seat of power through unconventional means.
In the history of the evil contraption, no single President or Senator has ever resigned for any reason. Only one minister has ever resigned but note that ministers are appointed not elected.
In Nigeria, politicians occupy positions of power to complete their tenures and never to provide solutions to the teeming problems of the people. After Nigeria breaks, the emerging countres must learn never to allow the same things repeat in their various countries.

"Resignation is un-Afrian"

You can indeed gain the whole world, have all the women, the money, all of it, but if it's independent of God's plan, which is Jesus, it will not stand the test of fire in the last days. For all things shall be tested by fire, what shall remain is that which was built on Christ alone.

If it is about resignation, pls forget it. Africans leaders don't resign. No matter how sick, ineffective there are, they either die on seat or their tenure finish.
