Opinion... Poverty is the parent of revolution and crime - Aristotle. Could this be the beginning of a revolution in Nigeria? It's not only military that can overthrow a democracy, hungry and angry civilians too can overthrow an incompetent democracy. Seeing hungry Nigerians looting the Dangote trailer today means the level of hunger in the land is already bringing out the animal and revolutionary nature of the Nigerian masses. If a spontaneous unorganised protest of the hungry and angry masses erupts, I doubt that even the military will be able to quench it. May God help our dear Nigeria. You are far from the truth. The current level of hardship can't cause revolution in a country like Nigeria where religious and tribal sentiments determine so many things. Nigerians are already used to hardship. Also, one trailer of Dangote cement is not a significant loss to Dangote. 2 Likes |

Each time I hear revolution, the picture in my head is always of a set of lazy people who have targeted successful people in their area and need an excuse to go and destroy the asset of those people under the guise of "na revolution we de do" There is no example of any country in the world that was successful doing the kind of revolution these lazy people are advocating for. The only known revolution in the world that was successful is and was the Industrial Revolution. That is a revolution where people decided to be productive not this lazy people destructive kind of revolution. That was how one school crying for poor amenities went ahead to destroy the few existing ones in the school, to the acclaimed tune of 2b in the name of riot. 2 Likes |
