Hello people, this sentiment has come to live with us.....does it mean people cant die by accident or illness anymore....

Why is everyone pointing a finger at relatives when immediately a family member dies...?

It's important to recognize that in Nigerian culture, there's a strong sense of community and family. When someone passes away unexpectedly or due to illness, emotions run high, and it's natural for people to seek answers. However, blaming relatives without understanding the full picture can be unfair and hurtful.

Imagine a scenario where a family member falls ill suddenly and passes away. Instead of offering support and comfort, some may start pointing fingers, accusing relatives of foul play or neglect. This can create tension and division within families, making it harder for everyone to grieve and heal.

Instead, we should approach these situations with empathy and understanding. Death can be a complex and unpredictable part of life, and assigning blame without evidence only adds to the pain. It's crucial to allow for proper investigation and mourning, while also offering support to those affected.

Let's strive to foster a culture of compassion and solidarity, where we come together to support one another during difficult times, rather than tearing each other apart with baseless accusations.

I think modern day Pentecostalism as practiced in Africa generally and Nigeria specifically has a warped and convoluted insight of the issues of diseases, its pathophysiology and ultimate complications.

Take a simple case of Rhesus incompatibility in couples especially where the woman is the negative partner. Our religious practices has in profering solution to this malady pointed hands at curses and people which oftentimes has led to family feuds lasting generations.

Our educational ascension doesn't seem to have permeated the choke hold religion has on society.

Until we desist from viewing deaths and illnesses through the foggy prism of religion, somebody will always be the fall guy in every death.
