The week-long funeral rites for the late former governor of Ondo state, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu,reached the climax following the funeral service held for the deceased at the cathedral Church of saint Andrew, Owo,Ondo state.
The remains of Aketi as the deceased governor was fondly called was brought into the church at around 9:45am with a parade of guard of honor mounted by officers of the Amotekun Corps.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, represented by the vice president Kashim Shetima stated in his speech that "there was no point in his life where his voices shook in telling the truth.Vastly intelligent man whose passing on had created a wide vacuum beyond this community "
Governor Lucky Ayedatiwa submitted at the cathedral church that "you are all here because he stood for something,good governance and the rule of law.He mean a lot to different people, and that is why he has been described in different words. He was a courageous leader, a fighter and a warrior. How can we forget him so soon? Its not possible because he lives on.".
In his sermon, the primate of the church of Nigerian, Anglican Communions Most Rev.Henry Ndukuba described the deceased as a self disciplined personality, and urged President Tinubu to act fast and address the persistent hardships across the country.
