I wonder why Ikorodu is being categories under mainland.
Ikorodu is surrounded by water, if Ikorodu is not Island then i will want to know what island means again.
When have you gone to Ikorodu by a bridge.
Or you don't know what the word Surrounded means?
Ikorodu is not an island Oga.
If it were you would need a bridge to get there....

Thanks jare my brother. I would rather use my money to buy comfortable life than save money and be suffering. Just try and have buffer for unforeseen circumstances.

Lots of those leaving that far do drive one-way at atone to cut the time it would take them to get honey. Otherwise, they risk getting home by 2am
Some people will have money to live in Ilupeju, they will pack to Atan-Alapoti side because they want to be landlord and be attending CDA meeting. Meanwhile, they work at Apapa.

If you own the business, okay.

But if one is an employee, eventually, whether one like it or not, one day one will have to leave the work place.

If you have not built a house by then, where will you go?

Life is not mathematics like that. Terminal illness, accident, natural disaster can happen that can affect one's means of livelihood.

So if you are earning well before and you did not build your house, if biblical Job misfortune jam person without house, where will person pack go?

We are talking of convenience here and good health. We are talking g if proximity to office and avoidance of early death.

Dey your lane make I dey my lane. Every Mallam with im own kettle. Spend your money to buy whatever you like.
If you like, go and build your house at Alapako or Ajanla Village and be shuttling Lagos-Ibadan Road everyday.
No be everybody come from Lagos State.
In other words ppl that live n work in surulere live long or don’t fall sick?
You must be a comedian

You don’t get it. We are saying he should get closer to work place as surulere is closer to the Island. I also mentioned Yaba and the Island in that comment.
Thays what some retar.ds here don’t understand.
The context is to be closer to your office.

I hope this is clear enough.

Hello @Op

It been a while you asked this. I just want to confirm what decision you took after all advice from nairalanders. ?

I’m quite in same position as you. Rent in Lagos is expensive so I’m sourcing for where will be pleasing for me to rent a mini flat. I work remotely for now, although no one knows what the future holds incase I get to look for jobs or being called back as a regular 9-5 guy again.

I need advice on this @Naira landers.

I have decided against staying in Ikorodu, will wait and gather some money to get a place on the mainland although not necessarily close to the office.
