Finally someone did this, better late than never. This one has been used against Nigerians in other African countries ,yet we do not complain whenever they come to our country to work. You all have no idea the sheer amount of expatriates in Nigeria in every sector.

They should please make sure they implement this and create a method to check that companies comply.

Implementation?

Forget bro.

The fact he even decided to do this without any prompting shows it came from his heart, and it will definitely be implemented.

Our job as workers in these companies is to be whistle blowers when they flout the new regulations. The govt will take it from there.

I didnt ask you about law. I asked you about expatriate employment levy (EEL). Except you didnt read the article, the first sentence of the article says "President Bola Tinubu has launched the expatriate employment levy (EEL) to close wage gaps between expatriates and the Nigerian labour force."

is it expatriate employment levy (EEL) that will enact law? am asking about the levy you are talking about law. whats the correlation?

how will expatriate employment levy (EEL) close wage gaps between expatriates and the Nigerian labour force?

Your argument is baseless, if you read my first post and understood it you will not be asking me a moronic question of how will expatriate employment levy (EEL) close wage gaps between expatriates and the Nigerian labour force?
You will know my stand, that's why I answered you base on my stand not that your moronic question because I know you are not paying attention

I never said anything about wage gap closing and labour force sh*t in my submission, you should ask questions base on the argument on ground not out of context ok...take this lesson as an advise for future purposes.

This man thinks raising IGR is an achievement by itself. He forgets he taking money from private individuals and businesses. And there is no way government can spend these resources better than the families and the businesses. These taxation can actually harm families, businesses and the economy..

It's only if the IGR is used well that's there is something positive

Work permit is not protectionism. Just like you need visa to visit a foreign country, you'll need a permit to work there.

Protectionism is dangerous to international trade. Allow people to compete fairly.

We all saw what happened when Buhari banned importation of foreign rice to protect local farmers
you don't know what you are talking every country does protectionism... That's why u can't wake up and enter plane to any country... U can continue to argue... There's a reason EPL teams must sign a quota of home grown talents... It's a must.. in Spain a team is allowed to sign just five non EU players.. that's mean protectionism for Europe... In Libya a foreign goalkeeper can't sign.. that's protectionism...

Likely just more propaganda and false promises from Tinubu.

A serious move would be not only to put levy on companies but to also pay all firms in Naira and impose special income tax on expats from developed nations.

That mandate you are standing on is very weak n flaccid. Those morons churning out this nonsense deserve a bed at yableft. A country that cannot maintain or build a refinery apart from technological transfer is talking about levying expatriates such a heavy Levy even in dcountrydevelopies it is not that much.
