Nigerian-based airline Air Peace is preparing to start its long-awaited service linking Lagos with London on March 30, 2024. Without available aircraft of its own to start services on the route, the carrier will be using leased Boeing 787-9s supplied by Norse Atlantic Airways (Norse)

The new route will see Air Peace operate from Lagos’ Murtala Muhammed International Airport (LOS) to London-Gatwick Airport (LGW) four times per week commencing at the start of the IATA northern summer schedule period.

According to Air Peace, the agreement with the UK-based arm of Norwegian carrier Norse is a wet-lease deal that will last for two months initially, but with the possibility of an extension. The airlines have also disclosed that they are in exploratory talks about further ways in which Norse aircraft could be used to expedite Air Peace’s ambitious long-haul expansion plans.

The start of London services also marks the entry of Air Peace into the highly competitive and lucrative market between Nigeria and Europe market. British Airways currently flies daily to Abuja (ABV) using Boeing 777s, and Lagos (LOS) using 787-10s, both from London Heathrow. Virgin Atlantic also flies a daily flight to Lagos using Airbus A350-1000s.

With the commencement of its new service, Air Peace will become the only Nigerian carrier serving the London market. Much of the current passenger traffic between Nigerian airports and London currently routes via a third connecting city. Out of around 362,000 passengers traveling between Nigeria to London in 2023, 46.8% traveled indirectly, connecting via cities such as Doha, Casablanca, and Addis Ababa.

I don't know....what the rationale behind this post is either good or bad...and I am not Igbo, quiet Frankly I am a core westerner.
.
This is quiet a normal thing and airpeace Boss already has some aircraft on order. This man is trying abeg...he is helping to add value to the naira.
.
I once saw a YouTube documentary where one stew*pid travel vlogger from south Africa called josh said a lot of negative things about airpeace...called it the worst airline in Africa... I made sure I gave that guy and his family enough curses even looked for him on other social platforms to give him enough doses of his medicine because I saw his video as an attack on Nigeria.
.
But you need to see the so many stew*pid Nigerians on the video claiming the guy is right. It irritates! Sometimes we really have to stop being tribalistic about everything because, for example, if this Airpeace Boss goes out of business and naira starts hitting the bottom very hard...all of us will feel the effect.
.
I wish government can do more for airpeace and other airlines trying to break into the international market and soon enough we will have something even better than Ethiopian airlines.
.
God bless Nigeria.

I am a Josh Cahill fan and honestly, It wasn't an attack on Nigeria in any way. Josh is generally very candid with his negative reviews. Recently he was banned from flying Qatar due to a similar YT video. However, he does give the flowers when its worth and has stated many times that he genuinely wants badly reviewed airlines to improve and will review it positively in the future, if there's improvement.

On the other hand, Airpeace has a bad service and safety record when compared against foreign carriers. It is something to improve on and not to get pissed. He's positively reviewed Azman in Nigeria and even several other airlines in obscure countries. Throwing insults at him would not change a thing. It would rather portray you as unexposed.

I have flown at least twenty airlines in my 27 years of existence...four of them were within Nigeria. Relatively speaking, airpeace has a better service and I have been on Ethiopian, S7(Russia), UTair (Russia) Egypt air, American airlines and even Lufthansa. I mentioned these ones because they were the best in terms of customer service...an area that Josh usually focuses on.
.
You never can trust these South Africans...I watched the video quiet alright, whatever happened on his flight I don't know...but that should never be a yardstick to castigate the whole airline. As we have it at this time, airpeace has a perfect crash record zero fatal crashes. There could have been some mishaps here and there but when we are talking about mishaps and even fatal crashes...American airlines holds that records and yet they remain one of the best in the world.
.
Some of Josh's reviews are quiet baseless, so many things beyond the confines of the airport and cabin goes into determining which airline is safe and which is not. Generally it is subjective and check airpeace reviews...they are having a great score. The people leaving one stars are probably saddists like Josh and people who just hate to see the man doing great.
.
.
Again don't think any Nigerian should support such open criticism for one of our growing company trying to break into international market. They are keeping up with regulators, their safety records are in check, they have done direct flight tests to America and the UK these are the people whose' opinions matters and not one racist from SA!
