I'm Yoruba, not igbo. Tribalism is a thing of the mind and a menace to one-nigeria that we crave. You see how yorubas and ibos throw Jabs at each other here on NL. It's not a one-sided coin. Both tribes need to have a rethink. Tribalism doesn't take us anywhere. I remember Oba Akiolu's unfortunate comment..someone who build even be discouraging such.

Our generation will be badly affected by this menace, unless we nip it in the bud asap. Both tribes are guilty of this, going by what I've seen here on NL my broda. Imagine me being called Ibo cos I supported Obi, imagine them calling Obj ibo too, despite knowing his family house and genealogy, cos he supported a non-yoruba candidate? Is everyone not entitled to their choice of candidate? Is it by force you support a particular candidate all in the name of Tribalism? People's choice should be respected if truly we practice democracy and not tribalistocracy.

Ibos and yorubas should stop this practice. Both tribes are to blame. It's not a one-sided coin. Stop thinking those who don't support Tinubu are not yoruba. We didn't vote him in lagos as a majority tribe. Ibos that they're even attacking hardly vote, though last year's turnout was better, maybe cos Obi was involved but they did same during Obj's 2 terms too. Nobody can tell Tinubu's story better than lagosians. We dey here and we see things. Osun is 99% yoruba but he lost there. Are they ibo too?. Even in Ekiti and Ondo he claimed winning, we knew how it all happened but that's past now. Election is over. I weighed GRV over Sanwoolu, even though I didn't like the party the latter belonged, but later supported Sanwoolu.

Since I supported Obi, I'm automatically ibo lol. What of the Sanwoolu I supported too? What would you now call.me...a yoruba-ibo? You see now? That's the beauty of democracy. Its a matter of choice which in my candidate opinion, everybody should respect. Both tribes should stop tribalism now!

This is the problem with you people... Instead of you to better contribute on issues, you're throwing jabs.

I stayed in Benin as a child to my youthful age, before leaving the state. Huge part of my family including my mum and siblings still reside in Benin today, your mentality of state is by tribe, origin or language, so I don't blame you. I have represented Edo State in different occasions, I guess you've never done that...

Back to the issue, I'm proudly a Deltan. With all sense of decency and responsibility, Edo State is our big brother, but to say an slowpoke is ruling us is out of arrogance and irresponsibility. Delta was built from almost crash when we parted ways from the Old Bendel. Benin City used to be our capital. Today, in all ramifications, Edo is no where near Delta State. I say in all ramifications! Even in the regular entertainment, we still lead the nation, the national sport festival is a testament to that. So, if Delta State is ruled by an slowpoke, I wonder who's ruling Edo State?
