Electricity: Neimeth Plans To Move headquarters From Lagos To Aba by Kepukepu: 1:55pm On Mar 01 |
Ahead of schedule, Aba Power Ltd, a subsidiary of Geometric Power, is poised to provide electricity to consumers in the Aba Ring-fenced Area, a move directed by Professor Bart Nnaji, the company's Chairman. The early power provision comes as Geometric Power commissions its 188 Megawatt thermal plant in Aba. Initial supply is set at 47MW, almost double the current 25MW received from the Niger Delta Power Holding Company. The second turbine is expected to increase supply to 94MW, meeting Aba's energy needs. This development attracts attention from major firms like Neimeth Pharmaceuticals, contemplating relocating to Aba pending substantial electricity improvement. Power Minister Adebayo Adelabu underscores Geometric Power's potential as a model for Nigeria's power sector development, marking progress in enhancing industrial power supply for Aba and promoting regional economic growth. https://nigerianbulletin.com/ams/neimeth-pharmaceuticals-eyes-aba-relocation-as-geometric-power-boosts-electricity-supply.3195/ 9 Likes 2 Shares |

Generator-powered economy is not sustainable in the long term. Companies would make less profit because of high manufacturing costs. Consumers would buy at exorbitant prices. Not only Neimeth, other manufacturers should do the right thing. Aba is within PH range, security is relatively good. It is historically known for hosting multinationals. 30 Likes 2 Shares |

Constant electricity is fundamental to any economy that truly wants to develop. As long as we are not aggressively pursuing stable electricity, we are just joking around about developing the economy 31 Likes |

Given how resourceful Africa is, we should have had stable electricity all over the continent if we had willing leaders and followers. 27 Likes |

Due to high cost of production because of lack of electricity, it is only sensible for industries to relocate their manufacturing base to Aba. Maxxis tyres has already acquired a location to build their production plant in Aba. More companies will move. If only Nigeria will restructure, you will see the true potential as states will be competing with each other. 15 Likes 1 Share |

yarimo: If you want to congratulate the heavyweights of the project, the top 3 are Barth Nnaji, Ngozi Iweala and the World bank president. Followed by Alex Otti Followed by Orji Uzor Kalu, T. Orji and the previous Abia governor The last on the list will be Tinubu that commissioned the project and Yaradua that was the president when the project commenced. 51 Likes |

Very very good. Let the development go round, and we will be better for it. If this electricity thing about Abia is true and sustainable, then I wholly congratulate them. Other states should take a cue. 1 Like |

It is a good move by Neimeth. Geometric Power will open the eyes of other states to improve on electric supply. They should make sure their PAYE is to Abia state and not wherever they are presently located. With power to generate power given to states, the competition for industries will be very high. 2 Likes |

Golan007:6 years ago, A friend of mine wanted to buy settees for his sitting room. He reached out to a company at Aba and they sent him samples. He chose one and when they told him the price he said it's too expensive. He told me instead of buying from them he'd prefer to buy from Turkey, which is what he did. Last year, he did some remodelling at his house and wanted to change the leather of the settees to match the new colour of his sitting room. Carpenter removed the old leather and we saw the logo of that same Aba company pasted in the inner wood of each of the settees 7 Likes 1 Share |

Zeebuy: Wil you stop with the lies? Either your friend was deceived in Nigeria by his own brother that he would import Turkey furnishings or you are giving a blatant lie. If Nigeria was known for furniture, everyone of us would know it. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Golan007:Guy are you insane? How would you open your mouth to tell me I'm lying? Are you my friend or I in any way? What's even wrong with some of you??! And what's this nonsense you talk about "deceived by his own brother" for furniture the guy ordered by himself from Turkey? Furniture we followed up with the entire processes from start to finish. Young man, better be careful. Anyways, it turned out someone buys from the Aba company and ships out to Turkey 2 Likes 1 Share |
