Video: President Bola Tinubu visits the Qatari National Museum. The museum is the former palace of the Emir of Qatar.

The governor of Borno State, Babagana Zulum, says that the Qatari Charity Foundation is currently building an orphanage and schools in Borno. He says that they are also building thousands of homes in Kaduna and Sokoto states.

The minister of Arts, Culture and the Creative Economy says that Nigeria is planning to build some new national museums as well as mini museums in some of our missions abroad, so it was a very good experience

Hopefully, Mr. President can attract the much needed investment in the oil sector to help increase our daily crude oil production.
Mr APC Agent, I don't think Qatar qualifies as a nation capable of developing our oil sector or investing in it. They have theirs and look forward to advanced partners developing theirs for them. I see no wisdom in heading to Qatat for such.

How many prosperous and working countries do you see their President or King or ruler globetrotting from one country to another begging foreigners to come and invest in his country even when he knows he hasn't fixed the major issues that naturally attract investors? In this life, if you want to excel you copy what prosperous people did. Learn from successful people, stop doing the same thing your failed predecessors did and still failed. Do things differently with some touch of wisdom if you want a positive and rewarding outcome.

Even the Bola Tinubu going about the world begging investors doesn't even believe in Nigeria because most of his stolen wealth is stashed outside Nigeria.

Is Russian President going about begging the world to come and invest in Russia? Is Chinese Xi Jinping doing that? Even India, etc?

Put your house in order first before going about begging foreigners like a leper to come and invest in your country.

Dangote built refinery in Nigeria, Nigeria is an crude oil producing country yet Dangote is importing crude from USA to refine.

All these and many more points to the fact that Nigeria have a fundamental problem that need the President to sit down at home and work with competent hands from all tribes and regions to address, not jumping around the world dressed like a lost goat wearing yeye signature cap and parading your tribesmen forming tribal champion in 2023 and you expect all to be well?

Declare state of emergency in security matter in Nigeria and do a live broadcast warning all troublemakers, terrorists, bandits, kidnappers, terrorists and land grabbers disguising as herdsmen, give them a deadline to vacate or quit making Nigeria unsafe for Nigerians that your government will not tolerate it.

As you are doing that, you are issuing serious orders to all service chiefs on what and what to do, you are planning to do a mass recruitment of both Police, Army, Civil Defense etc, you are working more seriously on local or State Policing, if need be, on the temporary, you are negotiating with competent foreign mercenaries with a target to wipe out Terrorists, Bandits and anybody displacing farmers so farmers can confidently return to their farms all over Nigeria to boost food production and you are also creating modernized ways for animal herders to modernize their herding business to reduce clashes with farmers to boost that sector.

Open industrial hubs, open youth IT hubs in all 36 states where Nigerian youths can go to acquire topnotch global IT skills so we can start exporting IT experts.

Give order to Medical Council, Nursing Council, Pharmacy council to increase admission quota for medical and nursing schools so we can produce more medical professionals that we can even export to earn forex and approach WHO to remove Nigeria from red listed countries of countries lacking enough medical professionals and tell them we have more than enough and can even help other countries in need of medical professionals. Of course we have the youth population to produce medical professionals to serve Nigeria and the rest of the world.

Stop appointing mostly your tribesmen into key political positions, make it merit based no matter your tribe or religion. Harness our Diaspora experts.

Sit in Nigeria as President, stop all travels for 2 years and do these things and more that I cant pen down here, and watch Nigeria turn around.

Investment drive: Nigeria, Qatar to sign eight agreements today

President Bola Tinubu yesterday kicked off his official engagements during the two day State Visit to the State of Qatar with a visit to the Museum in Doha.

President Tinubu had before his engagements met with key ministers and top government officials last Friday night. Those at the meeting called to strategise for engagement with the hosts included Wale Edun, Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy; Dele Alake, Minister of Solid Minerals Development; Yusuf Tuggar, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Doris Uzoka-Anite, Minister of Trade and Investment; Jamila Ibrahim, Minister of Youth Development and Ali Pate, Minister of Health and Coordinating Minister of Social Welfare.

The investment drive is on the sidelines of the State Visit at the invitation of Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar. Mohammed saad Al Rumaihi, the CEO of Qatar Museums and Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Hamad Al Thani, the Director of National Museum of Qatar, are two officials that met and conducted the Nigerian leader around the facilities.

The Museum, which was recently redesigned ahead of the 2022 FIFA world Cup, offers visitors access to a variety of materials used in Islamic art, including carpets and textiles, manuscripts, ceramics, wood, ivory, metalwork, stone and glass.

President Tinubu is expected to see pieces of materials dating back to the earliest Islamic period from the 20th century, spanning Spain and North Africa to the Far East.

The host is also expected to conduct his visitor to view the early Hijazi Quran fragments, the sitara of the Holy Kaaba, the Moroccan arch, a copy of al-Sufi’s treatise on the fixed stars, the Abbasid blue-and-white bowl, the Seljuq stucco panel, the Doha Hind and the post-Islamic Spanish ceiling.

Visit to the Museum, heralds other events and would culminate in the signing of agreements in eight areas today between Nigeria and the Qatari government.

From the Museum, President Tinubu will visit the Qatar Foundation responsible for promoting Qatar government humanitarian activities in other countries, including Nigeria.

The Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development is a state-led non-profit organisation in Qatar. The institution, which was founded in 1995 by the then Emir of Qatar, Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani and his second wife Moza bint Nasser Al-Missne, has been linked to development of schools, houses and health facilities in several countries, including Nigeria.

The Foundation helped Nigeria with infrastructure including schools, residential houses and health facilities in states ravaged by insecurity.

President Tinubu will later present a trophy to the winner of a Longine organised horse competition in the company of his hosts.

Also today, President Tinubu will engage the business community and join his host at the Palace of the Emir of Qatar for the signing of agreements.

Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State, who is on the President’s entourage to Doha, and other Ministers who spoke with journalists, expressed deep appreciation to their host for providing the opportunities to engage with the Qatar investors and look forward to a rewarding experience.

He cited the areas of agriculture, particularly, livestock farming as one of the most important areas that Nigeria business community can benefit from. Sani noted that Nigeria’s solid minerals development plans will also get a boost as a result of the engagements, especially by the sub-national governments.

“The Qatar Foundation has only five months ago invested millions of dollars to support the under privileged people in Kaduna State, by building hundreds of houses, hospitals for the less privileged people.

Kaduna State is also looking at a strong partnership in the solid minerals sector as the state is blessed with lithium and gold. These, including the area of livestock development, are areas we can collaborate with the Qatar government,” Sani said.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Tuggar, said Nigeria expects a strong partnership between the two countries going forward, as Qatar, which is the third largest gas producer, seeks to open up investment opportunities for the Nigerian business community.

“It will interest you to know that Qatar investors are in several countries in Africa, but not in Nigeria. “Nigeria and Qatar jointly have stakes in the future of gas, as the debate is on as to the future of gas in the energy transition plans,” he said.

Speaking on the benefits of the visit for MSMEs in Nigeria, Tuggar said the visit provides opportunities for the business community to further engage with their Qatar partners to explore a mutually beneficial relationship.

Minister of Youth Development, Ibrahim, on his part, expressed high hopes for the Nigerian youth as the Ministry was able to mobilise youths to Qatar on the President’s instructions to engage with their business community for mutual benefits.

“We are here with about 17 young entrepreneurs in our team to attend the Nigeria/ Qatar business summit and we are looking forward to securing cooperation in sectors such as agriculture, manufacturing and oil and gas,” he said.

GMB signed a lot of agreements, wooed a lot of foreign investors. Where are the investors? There’s no point celebrating the paper signing, visit to the Emir & visit to the museum. It’s best to celebrate when they eventually invest.

When we put our house in order, investors will be trooping in to invest in the country.

Please this isn’t an achievement. I doubt these guys will invest in an insecure environment.

How many of such prosperous countries are as corrupt as Nigeria? What about their educational systems, do they glorify malpractices and miracle centers there? Can Nigerians be as patriotic and law-abiding as citizens of those countries you called prosperous? Our leaders are bad because what we are is what we get.
