Next time. If you want to buy any UK used or US used phone, insist on updating the phone to the latest iOS before paying. If the seller refuses, then he has something to hide.

there’s True Tone and the screen is working normally , I’ve used the phone for like two weeks I just decided to update the iOS and the notification appeared.
I’ve called him and he admitted the screen was replaced that the notification will disappear in less than 10 days
Just need to confirm if it will truly go

Just downgrade it to the OS it had before

iPhone problem too much, now iPhone 15 pro max do cycle count, it will affect the resell value overtime, cos buy will ask what's the cycle count of the phone

it’s not a fake screen per say, it’s just Apple’s way of serializing parts. Even if you swap screens of two new iPhones to one another you’d still get that message.

Exactly. It doesn't have to be a fake screen for that message to appear. No it doesn't. If you remove from another iPhone to another , it could pop up that message. It's just like Face ID, no two devices have same face ID. It's apple's way of wanting you to patronize their stores for repairs.

Saying the screen is outright fake is wrong.

One thing I can’t stand in an iPhone is a fake screen. It completely changes the picture quality, even the battery will be overheating in most cases due to the screen. A fake battery is manageable but a fake screen? I won’t buy it no matter how cheap, unless there’s an original Apple screen available that I can swap it with

People still buy iPhones with 80 percent battery health, they won’t mind what the cycle says.

The notification won’t go away until you change the screen. And you’ll never be able to sell that phone well because that notification will be there about a fake screen. Best bet is to return it to the guy you bought it from.

Fake screen?? How

he is lying.

the notification will not go away. if you are really unlucky the phone performance may even start to degrade

the guy swlls phones and he knows why he did not upgrade before selling to you
he may even have deliberatly installed an older version of ios on the device that would not trigger the prompt

the seller is just your average dubios nigerian hustler. there may not be much you can do

Number of times the battery has been charged. O something along those lines. Brand new OEM batteries are good for 500 cycle counts if I remember correctly. Useless stat if you ask me

there is no inconsistency. Update from phone or laptop or even from anywhere, you’ll get that message as long as you don’t have the follow come screen that came with the phone, even if you put a brand new screen directly from a new phone. Same stuff.

none of what you said about the performance or installing older version of iOS is true. It’s not even possible, stop panicking the OP with false information.

Did you buy the phone new or used? It seems the phone screen has been replaced before and the repairer used a fake screen. The iPhone system detected this hence the message prompt. If you want to update your iphone software in future, you need to replace the screen to an original iPhone screen
doesn’t matter if it’s original screen or fake screen, as long as d screen has been replaced by a third party engineer the message will appear😊
